It looks like putting everything into strength and going Bull Rusher, Pocket Crusher, and Pass Rusher would give a monster boost to Power rushers.

I guess these new D Line VA's take Agility-based DT's off life support. Its all about Strength now, it would seem.

It works, though yeah it doesn't show as a sometimes. Sometimes another player can actually get credit for a hurry due to fearsome, actually. If there's a player whose broken free and overall pressure is high enough, the QB will feel hurried and it will just attribute it to the closest unblocked guy.


Whoa, I didn't know Fearsome would show up in the text as a Hurry at all....I assumed it was just a hidden hurry.

Technique Man
This player has great technique when fighting blockers. Each level of Technique Man gives a +2% bonus to breaking pass blocks when using the Evasive pass rush tactic, if the blocker has at least 10% less agility.

Is that base stats or stats w / equipment ?

With equipment and attribute boosting VA's, which includes Streaky.

I'm a little concerned about some of the VAs that can stack onto QBs + WRs when trailing late. It worries me that we may be verging on S9 Big Heart like "God Mode" for the passing game. With the QB depth chart you can even build a specific "comeback QB"

QB:
Clock Manger = +75% to pass quality last 8 mins of 2nd & 4th Qs if trailing
Hail Mary = 15% bonus to Strength & Throwing on passes > 20 yards (always)
Big Heart = 30% bonus to Throwing, Vision, Confidence and 7.5% bonus to strength when trailing
Overtime Killer = 5% bonus to ALL attributes when trailing by 7 with less than 5 minutes to play

WR:
Comeback Kid = +60% bonus to catch pass > 15 yards when trailing
Clock Manager = +75% to pass catching in last 8 mins of 2nd & 4th Qs if trailing
Then also...
Mr Reliable = +30% pass catching 3rd/4th downs
Slot WR = 45% increase to Route Run & Sticky Hands and 15% bonus to Vision (if WR3)

Is this a combination that could specifically be tested to ensure we are not giving too much here? The %'s stack up to a lot, but maybe it is in specific enough situations that it isn't an issue.

If it is a problem, I think the secondary could use something like "Prevent Defense" VA that activates in certain situations (leading with less than 2-5 minutes in 2nd/4th Qs) and provides some sort of bonus to pass defensing skills (vision, PDs, INTs, knocked loose, etc). Details can be figured out, but just a thought.

Also, why is there no love for INT VAs? It seems like every other niche activity in GLB has a VA on it, but INTs. They seem like the forgotten step-child of GLB VAs. EagleOtto came up with a pretty good idea, "Jump the Pass" which gives a +3% INT chance & -1% Avoid Fake Chance (could go +2% INT, -0.5% Avoid Fake). With the positive & negatives I think it is a self-countering VA that would be for situational use & players only.

Really? We tested it on several teams last preseason and not one hurry AT ALL from it ever with over 400 blitzes. How is that "working" ?

Wait, when you say attribute VAs do you mean just Quick and Streaky, OR does that include VAs like Pass Blocker, RZF, Goalline Blocker? If it includes the +2% to agility VAs, that kind of sucks. Pass Blocker gives +2% per level on 2nd and 10, while DTs get nothing in that situation from pass rusher. In that situation, the higher your agility the harder it becomes to use Technique Man. Well, maybe not, but your higher agility and TM is going against a headwind because you're not stacking as many +2% bonuses as the Oline. TM will be probably be worthless for a lot of DTs on 2nd & 10+. It seems that agility DTs got the short end of the VA stick here. Make more tackles, lose more energy. Nice to know powerbacks are even more ridiculous. Getting punished by a 180lb power back, priceless.

Also, with this set of rules for Overtime Killer what is there to prevent everyone from putting 1 into overtime killer? It seems like you get the 5% to every attribute no matter what once you're in overtime, so you'd actually be putting yourself at a disadvantage if you didn't put 1 point into it. Great, another mandatory teamwide VA like MS became.

It's also cool that HBs and FBs are now even better pass blockers as goalline backs. I hope that new bonus only applies on pass plays after catching a pass.

Towering Man New VA

This defender is difficult to pass over. Each level of Towering Man gives a +3% bonus to deflecting passes when playing NT, DT or DE and pass rushing.

Does this key on height? Jumping? Or does it matter?

Overtime happens less than 1 time per season .6 per season or something,

Lol at hb/fb abusing goal line back lol.... A lot better vas than using that to be a blocker....

Power backs have to invest 15 in a va' to lower lbers energy at a 30% chance of firing...... Lbers don't usually have stamina issues as it is and most teams carry 55 players......

You are way off base here dude.

Are we going to get a full VA reset this season? With all of these changes and additions 15 point reset is just not going to cut it...

So, I am not seeing all the crazy requirements that were discussed last night. Do they still exist or what? For example the bull rusher doesn't say it requires the power pass rushing style in the description. Can we use any pass rushing style and have it still work?
