He didn't say he didn't want me to, he was inactive. He gave me the ability to trade players.

If he was inactive how come he popped up just a few minutes after you gutted his team? I guess it was just a coincidence that he happened to log in that exact day.

..and by the way, congrats to Joe for doing the right thing, even in the face of enmity from his teammates, who will surely try to spin this another way.

Edit: they already are starting, see above...

Doing the right thing equals threatening to sabotage a team instead of have a rational discussion?

Okay

He aired the gripes in a private team forum first...that is the right thing to do. Then rather than discuss it with him you banned him? The bandits look more and more guilty with every sentence typed...

Thing is I didn't even air my gripes. I simply posted links to threads as a heads up to everyone, since the Bandits talking about being honorable. I thought I was doing it for good discussion and give BillyVassi the ability to explain. I was banned for that, without even giving my thoughts on how I thought it was wrong..and before even knew that Bandits got players in the trade.

I was banned and benched without even airing my gripes.

The owner of the team posted in a thread claiming he didn't want his team gutted and was upset about it. what am I missing?

Ohhhh, drama, this league needed a good spygate to get the buzz rolling before the playoffs.

@ Ballbright stop being such a pussy. Your collusion rhetoric is weak considering the actual trade that went down and how very little this trade matters in the overall scheme of Bandit Football. Go find something better to do.

@ Mojo, after your post in the internal forums a lot of the team including bilyvassi stood up for you and asked for you to be reinstated, I think its fair to say you wont be returning to the lineup after this most recent batch of sour grapes.

Excuse me you fucking moron? The guy did the right thing...sending your whole team in here to try to discredit him (as you're doing now) is pathetic. Billy and catspaw are the only two that are required to defend their positions.

As far aas my "collusion logic and rhetoric" mine is sound, and by definition the bandits are wrong in this. There isn't anyway around it.

Billy, despite my initially defending him in the original thread, is wrong for what he did.

The Bandits are wrong for continuing to defend it.

Billy colluded (by contacting Catspaw) about trading players to the Bandits for inactive players.

That's what happened, it IS WRONG.

There is no way around that.

This guy is the most rational of everyone posting. I have an agenda and so do others from the Bandits. We are emotional about this. This guy is an outsider looking in. He first defended BillyVassi but after seeing more that happened (my banning, the trades with the Bandits, etc..) changed his opinion.

Catspaw decided to get in a pissing contest with me and then ignore me. No chance after that.

Then why go after ME? I was a good teammate to you. And I specifically said if you had any questions about what I did, please ask me, because there are a lot of rumors and misinformation out there, as evident by a lot of the things in this thread. I was very respectful to you. I don't understand why I am your target. If I wronged you I really would like to about it so I can fix it.

I am a Bandit and here are my initial thoughts. First, as to Ballbright's charge that my opinion is tainted by the fact that I am on the team, I guess the same could be said of his opinion since he has two players on the team directly below us in the conference. I guess the only other option is to consider the responses. Ballbright is practically carrying the charge against Brisbane in this thread with 15 posts all hardline against Brisbane. You will see that I, on the other hand, disagree with some things Cats did and disagree with most of the charges.

While I will assume that joemalaka had an innocent purpose in posting the thread in the team forum, the truth is that it was mostly unrelated to the team. Billyvassi is not a GM for Brisbane. He simply has one player on the team. I think what he did to the other team was gutting and was wrong.

While I think banning joemalaka from the forum may have been a bit of an overreaction, I know it certainly isn't unheard of and I believe it resulted more from anger at introducing a distraction to the team forum than as part of any kind of conspiracy. Catspaw works very hard on the team, especially on having an active and involved group of players. I think he saw this thread a chance for nothing good to happen. And since we had a situation in the past where a disgruntled player (on his way out the door) shared our gameplan with the opposing team, I support his position that joemalaka simply can't be brought back into the forum.

But to go from an overreaction to cries of collusion is pretty silly. Given the fact that you don't even know what all went on with the trade, I find it especially curious that you have so quickly and firmly taken such a strong stance. But I'll assume it isn't due to a conflict of interest w/r/t you being on the 2nd place team in our conference.

Ballbright I believe made an analogy to bank robberies, which is a poor one. Collusion is nothing like bank robbery because collusion involves normal activity (trading) that is subtly influenced against the spirit of the market. Collusion is determined by judgment, not by a clear rule. If you use force to get a bank teller to give you money, that is bank robbery - a clear rule. You often prove collusion through a series of acts that, taken together, suggest something is fishy.

This is one trade of a backup, inactive lvl 12 RB to acquire a backup lvl 12 CB. It is a good deal for Brisbane, but it is the exact same deal that every other team got trading with billvassi. In fact, if you look at the roster of that now-gutted team, it's pretty easy to say that this probably wasn't even in the top 10 in terms of favorable deals:

Cheating is a pretty serious charge, and I hope that some people would be a little more reserved in their accusations.

Billy I feel like you wronged every owner out there by pulling that. I know that I would be beyond pissed if someone gutted my team and got inactives in return while I was not logged on and I think every owner in here would agree that they would be pissed. That's why I don't give my GMs trade or releasing powers.

You're missing the weeks of PMs I sent to him about it, trying to discuss the situation, that he never read or replied to because he was inactive. He hadn't read a PM from me since mid-April. He came on and posted that likely because a friend told him what happened.

Quality post. While I wouldn't put my team in position to be accused of collusion, and I disagree with how it went down, I think this is a little much over 1 player. And I also think the Bandits are going to have a choke job in the playoffs.

The truth is:

--Billy stripped a team of its players without permission. Ability to do something (as a GM) is not permission. I have the ability to beat my dog anytime I want, but I'm willing to bet even without his saying so, that I don't have his permission.

--Billy traded some of those players (without placing them on the free market) to teams he is on.

--The team in question here traded an inactive player, who has been inactive almost the entire season, for high level active players to the betterment of their team.

--When a player from the Bandits tried to question it, they banned him from their forum.

--That player took the allegations public as a retort.

--Billy has attempted to lie and spin the trade as "fair" because the HB was a lvl 12 (even though he has been inactive all season).

--Bandits team is now attempting to discredit the player who outed them, because they don't like being busted...

--Bandit's players are attempting to downplay the significance by various methods including saying it was only one player (a lie), it has minimal impact, people who bring this up are jealous (chip on shoulder nonsense), etc.

Have I missed anything?

And here I was so happy spygate was over, now I'm getting it on GLB.

Who gives a shit. By the looks of it they were going to run away with Alpha anyway, and then lose to the Zeta representative in the finals, and thats how its going to be now.

Who cares.

The words 'collusion' and 'cheating' would never have been brought up in this thread if the Bandits weren't undefeated . . .

Just sayin'.
