Slow build is just those who really dont want too or can not by flex points. There is now right or wrong and yes sometime it works and it does not work.

I thought setting playing intensity to relaxed capped you at 90% of max exp?

When I slow build, I usually dump my first couple SP's into a secondary skill to a point at which I want it. I.E., the new QB I made I'm dumping points into confidence.

Then again, when I "slow" build a guy I don't go for game XP so I can maximize training on intense at low low levels.

You've got 10 seasons. The first guy I ever made at the start of season 2 is about to hit 26...

Right or wrong this is what I'm trying for what I call Combo building.

1st step: Put all 15 sp's in stam this will max PT.
2nd step: Don't buy equipment.
3rd step: Buy custum stam equipment if you can.
4th step: Stay away from Special Abilities unill LV 12
5th step: Pick an important Player Attributes to train on intense. Do this whille it's of value.
6th step: When you go up a LV pick one thing to dump all your points in. So with my o-lineman I'm only putting points into blocking until I reach the 3rd cap. Then I will put points into the 1st thing I was training. Untill it reaches the 1st cap.

I believe this will make good players for season 5 and they will be monsters for season 6.

Hey, it took me a second, but I'm offended by your avatar!

Actually, its pretty funny. Just out of curiosity, are you a lover or a hater?

I'm a Pittsburg fan living in Buffalo so my only feelings on the Pat's are of joy when they beat the Bills.

I just thought it was funny.

I still laugh at all these supposed slow builds talking about playing time. The whole point of a slow build is to get your player better than another player at the same level.

I want my level 4 guy to have 10 more SP than a new level 4 guy. And I want him to have 20 more SP assigned than an equal player at level 8.

The point is you DONT WANT TO LEVEL UP. If you level up you aren't gaining anything.

Slow building is so that you can get a boost over someone at higher levels. It just keeps adding up, but only works to a certain point.

Ok, there are two different things folks are talking about...

1) SLOW BUILDING - The goal is to make the best low level player you can by not leveling that much. They do this by not leveling and lots of training.

2) PRO BUIDLING - The goal is to make the best player. They do this by maximizing daily training, level bonuses and their use of skill points. This post describes what I call "PRO BUILDING" http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=600791

Anyone willing to create a player to supper slow build and dominate in season 8?

It should be fun.

I've got three guys who are not going to sign to a team until level 5. I plan on training normal for one level and then relaxed until they hit level 5 or so (definitely before 7). Then I'll sign on a D league team while I try to find a human team. Should be pretty easy because by then I should have two abilities soft-capped.

I've actually got a Guard that I'm using as an experiment. He is signed to a team, but not on the depth chart so he's simply training intense (and soft-capping when he has enough points) and will do so until level 12 or so.

So yes, I am interested

Pretty sure it does. I set my experimental slow build DE to relaxed one game and he wound up with 60 fewer XP for the game.

If your 'slow building' i cant see the point in boosting until at least level 20.
