Dude! Not a superstition (I think) but surely a pet peeve of mine in game design! Why, in all creation, did the developers think to NOT allow color change for free on equipment? Why? I mean, unless there's total truth to the 'all the same color' statement then it makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE! Why not allow for 'team colors' or maybe somebody just likes wearing Black (Hello... Johnny Cash anyone???). Fer cryin out loud... it's literally the dumbest thing GLB never did right from the start.
