You're in the minority. 95% of GLB has no control over the plays their team calls, because they're not an OC/DC/HC/Owner. A vast majority of GLB is already playing this game.

Socialized dots - everyone is the same wooooooo hoooooooooooo.........NOT!

You say that like it's not already the case. Nothing about building has changed since we left beta. 40+ seasons of cookie cutters.

If anything, this would change the way dots are built, because without play calling and depth chart control, there'd be no distinct advantage to building a hyper specific type of dot. The best builds would rise to the top, as opposed to being just a product of the system. That's anti-socialism IMO. Instead of an OC tailoring an offense around your special little dot ensuring you get all the stats and all the trophies, you'd have to win it.

Yeah... was many seasons ago (before we left Beta?) that I proposed the WG install some form of slight changes in the game outcome parameters. We already know that the Passing game gets a boost in the first few seasons... they said as much. Well, if they can do that then they can adjust subtle win/lose parameters for all levels.
Examples; So if season 70 was business as usual then why not bump up the passing game in season 71? Turn it back down and maybe even give a speed bonus in season 72? Then a strength bonus in 73... ect, ect, ect....

It doesn't have to be much... just enough to change the outcomes of plays and make outcomes less predictable. But we all know that's not going to happen so TJ is spot on... builds are becoming more like carbon copies than individualistic attempts.

THANX for your time. I noticed the wanky playcalling by KC but I used a wide open OAI in our 1st game against a good tem.

I can't speak for anyone else -- but neither can you. I said I would not play this game.

What we CAN do is look at the available evidence. Your version of GLB is closer to GLB2, Casual, or the D-League Challenge -- all of which have considerably fewer players than full, normal GLB. I'd say the players are already voting with their feet.

You're also mis-understanding what those 95% of players are doing. They're not creating dots and throwing them into a black box for a computer to control. They're creating dots and giving them to human owners and human coordinators, asking them to use their dots fairly, properly, and for maximum effectiveness. Those owners and coordinators try all sorts of different systems on both O and D, and some dots thrive in some systems and falter in others. But if every team were computer-controlled, there would be less variety, not more. There IS a lot of cookie-cutter building now, but there are still people doing odd, specialized or experimental builds. A human running a custom O or D know what to do with a build like that. A computer running the same generic O and D as every other team does not.

Are there problem owners? Sure! Is the answer to throw ALL owners -- good AND bad -- into a dumpster and replace them with computers? I don't think so. I would not play that game -- and the available evidence says most other players wouldn't either.

---

But this is all a moot discussion anyway. Bort stopped making changes to GLB long ago.

no. but it will have "auto saves" at the end of every season that will store dot builds you've made, to make clones out of in the future. You'll get 1 for every position.

in fact, they would lose to another CPU team the next game

Not the passing game that got a boost, qb passing got a boost.

There is still the occasional change although I don’t know if it’s bort. Last one was visible because statistics stopped displaying. Watch for new bugs, you will know someone was in the code.

If I recall from Survivor, that is a particularly craptacular human team, but I'll research it more later.

But remember, I didn't say CPU teams NEVER beat human teams. I said that when a CPU team beats a human team, it's almost always a human team with under-leveled dots, horribly-built dots, bad AIs, or some combination of the above. And I'm fine with that. Bad human teams SHOULD be within reach of a CPU team that catches a few lucky rolls.

Bug fixes are in their own category. The sorts of things that break in GLB now are because a server hamster hiccups at the wrong time, and, say, the "reset league stats for new season" subroutine never starts as a result. Bort or DD probably logged in, ran the subroutine manually, and then went back to watching The Real Housewives Of Punxatawney on Netflix or something. I doubt a single line of code was changed.
