Wonder if anyone will ever have the balls to build an INT DT... won't be me, but I have some ideas on how I'd do it.

I've got my sights set on the ultimate punter build. Gonna show Bane how it's done.

This guy had 3.

I wish I cared enough to try... could probably do it next season, but I waited too long this offseason.

Kind of a random occurance there. Still, could be interesting. I've seen DEs get interceptions off of screen pass attempts multiple times. But how would the DT get most of his interceptions?

Just from rushing the line, like in the replay, and load him up on jump/catch attributes and int VAs and SAs and have him work in conjunction with a Towering Man support line?

Or dropping him back into middle zone off the snap and letting ILBs handle any inside rushes?

I opened the build, pretty similar to homage.
Catching and Jumping in the multi-train, 3 AEQ, Jumping to 70, catching to mid 50's or 61 if I could swing it, speed to 50, tackling only mid 70's. Only SA's would be swat ball and bonus to sticky hands.
Might have to skimp a few points off agility and strength, but still 90+ agi and 150 strength.

3 AEQ, 2x break block,
15% int, and CEQ in deflect.

Would prolly deflect less but should get 2 int's per season.

Would bonus SA into Jumping Catch help?

Jumping Catch
The Jumping Catch ability gives a receiver a better chance of catching passes that are over his head, which may otherwise sail through his hands.

This is an important skill to help bail out your QB if he is pressured a lot. Tall players also will be able to jump up and catch passes a shorter defender might be unable to reach.

Additional Levels:
Increases the bonus to catching when jumping for the pass.

I'm gonna guess it would not. Why? Lord knows it's been decades since Bort last graced us with a Q&A session but it sticks in my head that this question was asked before and the 'gist' of the reply was no because of the way the pass coding progressions occur. (this is from an old mans memory so it might not be 100% accurate) Once the pass is thrown, the defenders within the throwing line get a chance to deflect based on proximity, jumping, height, arc of pass, passing skill, ect, ect, ect. After passing that test, then any INT checks are preformed, if applicable. Then the catch is attempted. Then Knocked loose. Then a second INT/ Deflect check, then a second pass catch check. Jumping Catch ONLY effects the CATCH part of the play... not the INT part... even though, technically, an INT IS catching the ball. It simply doesn't read as such for the purposes of the effect of Jumping Catch. Now Tall Man, does help with deflects... and INT's quite often occur off of deflects... and Catching SKILL does effect the ability to get INT's.

Even if it does help it's not better than sticky hands as SH is not situational and gives additional bonuses on 3rd down and is confirmed working for defense. There's not enough BT or SP room in the build for both SA's IMO so it's a non-issue, but I'm not building the dot anyways just throwing out ideas, ya'll can do whatever you want.

Also would use the strength DT archetype even though swat ball is a penalty SA. Strength, Agi, and Vision majors are worth their weight in gold. Vision gotta be high 70's low 80's. Could probably get away with mid 70's but I wouldn't want to go any lower.

Speed is a major instead of agility.
