Five weeks down and eleven more to go!!! For the regular season that is.

We are down to one undefeated team in each conference (Green Bay Maulers/Alpha and the Butte Pirates/Zeta). While I don't think the teams with zero loses represent them being that much better or even the best teams in their respective conferences. Instead, I think it shows a pretty solid balance in each league with some very nice teams sitting with one or even two losses. Plus, each of the two have some tough opponents left.

Like my opening salvo - there's a ton of time left in the season then the playoffs. Saddle up your ponies and get them to the starting gate (no clue why I opted for a horse race theme there - I'm as confused as you are right now).

WEEK 5 - PLAYER OF THE WEEK
October Revolution K, OR K. K saved the Revolution's butt this week as the dot was four for four on FG's (46, 24.5, 48.5, and 41.5 yarders). It was the last 41.5 yarder that provided the Revolution with the win over Nebraska-Omaha Mavricks in overtime 26-23.

PREDICTIONS TO DATE - Got tripped up a bit as Nevada, Vancouver, and The Irish showing me wrong.

Week 1: 13-3, Week 2: 14-2, Week 3: 9-7, Week 4: 14-2
Week 5: 13-3
Overall: 63-17

WEEK 6 PICKS

Green Bay Maulers vs. White Lightning - My teams a break from it's two week vacation. Now, back to reality and the Lightning will come ready to play. White has show flashes of that special season and their recent dismantling of previously undefeated Oak Oaks tells this will be a war. You know I'm not going against my team but I believe this will be decided late (27-24).

Show Me Your Tets vs. Woerth Shamrocks - Shamrocks have a couple nice W's under their belts and only a six point loss to my team. Tets are a nice team but the Shamrocks are just a bit better and it will show on the dotfield (35-17).

Royal Oak Oaks vs. OffTopica Freemasons - Oaks need a nice bounce back W after this past week and they'll get it against the Freemasons.(34-17).

Baltimore Rock Monsters vs. Urban Blitzers - I may actually have to watch this one as I like what both teams are doing right now. Blitzers have a little more in their tank and get the W with a strong fourth quarter (27-20).

Black Box vs. Brethren Krewe Rum Runners - The Box has struggle on the season with their O and D and now their cheerleaders are wearing brown grocery bads over their heads. Rum Runner will have a walk in the park (48-6)

Vancouver Gorillas vs. CHAOS SOCIETY * BattleDots - Gorillas are rounding into form nicely after starting the season off slow. Battledots won't be able to keep on the scoreboard (31-13)

Orlando Colts vs. Royal Hostile Takeover - The Colts have dropped two in a row but I still like them to get the win against the Takeover. I expect a barnburner here with the Colts getting enough to start the winstreak going (23-20).

Detroit Muscle vs. Nebraska-Omaha Mavricks - Muscle looking to bounce back after their first loss. The Mavs showed this week they are not about to lie down and die on the conference putting October into OT before falling. The Mavs O is coming around but won't be enough for the Muscle's D (31-20).

ATHENS WARRIORS vs. Alaskan "War" Raven - The Raven have dropped two of three and the WARRIORS have won two in a row. However, I think the Raven ground game will be a little more that ATHENS can handle (34-23).

The Irish Facials vs. Butte Pirates - Have not been overly impressed with Butte but they keep winning anyway. If Facial RB Mickies Bigmouth (I recall having a few of these years ago - nasty stuff) can get going it could be an upset but I digress as the Butte overall levels will be too much in the end (30-24).

October Revolution vs. Lipton Teabaggers - The Teabaggers are down on their luck not having won a game on the season to date. Don't rub the rabbits foot just yet as one more in the loss column is on the way (27-14).

255-0'S I'll take the free ones since it pumps up my winning percentage.
DS Factory vs. Nevada Hillbillie's
Off In The Shower vs. Texas Tigers
American Horror Story vs. Dryden Blue Balls
Blatz Beer Barbarians vs. Terror Lake Witnesses
Medford Mallards vs. Warnerstock Animaniacs

YIPEE CPU ROSTER TEAMS This is through four games as I didn't want to do the math since it won't update for a while. I'd really like to do some things with the statistics but its so skeewed by these five teams. I get it, it's tough to know what teams are not continuing and filling up with CPU dots. Looking at the below it would seem to me one can make a educated guess on teams that would not be full (or even with some human dots on them). This is certainly an ownership issue as well - these guys/gals know they are not trying to fill a team up so why not stay in #3 or 4. Auto promoted? No clue but we can all see it doesn't work well at all. /rant

Team and ppg give up.

DS Factory - 199.8 ppg - playoff team that won their league title with three human dots on the roster.
Dryden Blue Balls - 229.3 ppg - playoff team last season getting to the conference finals with a full CPU roster.
Texas Tigers - 249.3 ppg - playoff team that lost in the first round of playoffs with a full CPU roster.
Medford Mallards - 278.8 ppg - playoff team that lost in the league title game (to DS) with one human dot on the roster.
Terror Lake Witnesses - 328.5 ppg - playoff team that lost 255-0 in the second round of the playoffs with a full CPU roster.

---------------

I may head out of town this weekend so I'll do a generic week seven prediciton - if not I'll probably re-do. If not, I'll do a bigger mid-season extravaganza. Sorry, not about to type one oup via phone.

WEEK 7 PICKS

Dryden Blue Balls vs. Off In The Shower - Shower rinses and repeats (255-0).
Blatz Beer Barbarians vs. Show Me Your Tets - BBB will need a bounce back W after their loss to the Hillbillie's - they get it in a thriller (30-27).
White Lightning vs. American Horror Story - Lightning making me forget about my earlier predictions on Horry Story (34-23).
OffTopica Freemasons vs. Green Bay Maulers - Freemasons will show a little life but just not enough (41-21).
Warnerstock Animaniacs vs. Woerth Shamrocks - Shamrocks will keep pace with the Jones (38-10)
Terror Lake Witnesses vs. DS Factory - Coin toss says DS (48-45).
Nevada Hillbillie's vs. Royal Oak Oaks - Hillibillie's starting to play well - Nevada will roll some Oaks (38-17).
Texas Tigers vs. Medford Mallards - Coin toss says Texas (31-20)
CHAOS SOCIETY * BattleDots vs. ATHENS WARRIORS
Alaskan "War" Raven vs. Black Box - Raven averaging around 30 ppg and Box less than one - do the math (48-0)
Royal Hostile Takeover vs. Urban Blitzers - Blitzer are my favorite team coming out of Zeta right now - Takeover will be the next victim (30-13)
October Revolution vs. Baltimore Rock Monsters - Baltimore looks better each week (27-20).
Butte Pirates vs. Vancouver Gorillas - This is the week, down goes Zeta's final undefeated team (21-20).
Lipton Teabaggers vs. Detroit Muscle -
Nebraska-Omaha Mavricks vs. The Irish Facials - Facials in a tight one but bust out late (24-10).
Brethren Krewe Rum Runners vs. Orlando Colts - Colts stampeed through the Rum Runners (27-17).

GL to everyone and enjoy your weekend.

I'm a little behind the changes for the promotion. Is this correct that it's not taking affect until the end of next season:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=5082484&page=1#47364571

Now, since I want to get up to casual pro how do promotions work for getting up to casual pro this upcoming season then? Even if you win you may not get moved up - that's correct from what I've seen this past season. We have to hope some teams decide to start over or go CPU. Then is it the highest rated GLB team to get promoted, champions, what???? This is confusing. I don't know. Anyone care to help me out and explain.

I think the bottom 4 in Casual Pro will get demoted. Then the team who win the Championship in Pro 1 2 and 3 all go to Casual Pro. That is the basic then there is some other crazy stuff for other people to move up. Just win and you go up

Nope, it's the 8 teams who contest the conference championships from 1 and 2.......so lose and you can still move up

Yep, no way casual #3 demotes from 1 and 2 get a cakewalk to pro the next season.

Yes it's 1 and 2 , but unfortunately not till season 36, so I guess that means they can use the same random promotion process they have used before. last season they bypassed both the #1, and #2 positions in casual 1 alpha, but the 1 seed was able to argue their ways in. They promoted the 1 and 2 in the other casual 1 conference, and 1 of them promptly went CPU and is still in the pros. The season before, The promoted the 2,3 seeds from alpha but again failed to promote the winner! It's a very unfair process and especially with so many casual regional pro teams competing for such few spots in casual pro. casual 3 does not get promoted to pros, but I am unclear when they say effective season 36 if that excludes the results from the end of season 35 that form the 36 teams or not. I'm not to worried because we are going to win and I will break my computer if we don't get promoted again!
