Thar's good, I don't think anyone can have a good argument that the gold winner gets promotes. There are 4 leagues feeding into 1 pro in casual, 7 leagues feeding into 4 pro leagues in regular, so there are more teams vying for the spots, and if you add incompetence to the promotions you will have alot of frustrated owners out there

I don't know about at least a winning record, but I agree with reasonably competitive. The San Diego team I have up there lost several games by less than a touchdown last season and two in the last minute. They weren't a winning record team, but they were certainly competitive. Now if they backslip this season and it starts to show that they are over their head, I agree completely. Some teams left up there ARE over their heads and some moved up WILL be over their heads.

Seminole, Phantoms, Polarkats, Pride, Destroyers, and Voodoo could all do better than the current bottom six teams in Pro. Most would be solid playoff contenders.

I have to chime in on this one now................. RCP Elite #2 ? Come on GLB !!!

Thanks Meat.... I think you're right !!!!!

15 Green Hornets 4-12-0 -2
16 Shadow Phoenix 2-14-0 -11
15 Alabama Crimson Tide 4-12-0 2

IN CASUAL PRO ?? OMG !!!!

No offense to any of them... but........ COME ON !!!

Totally agree. Cas Pro is for competition. If a team can't compete they should get the boot. All of those teams you listed would have been a first round playoff exit in our RPE conference last season.

For sure !! I just think they don't really care.... at least that's what they're showing us.

What a shame GLB !!

There isn't an auto demotion - that's the problem all wrapped into one issue. I know the WL has it - do the other pro leagues?

Well, I for one can't bash one team that has kicked my butt a few times on that list:

03/26/2013 Green Bay Maulers L 30-0 (Pacific Trash Vortex)
02/23/2013 Green Bay Maulers L 0-80 (Pacific Trash Vortex)

A little underleveled compared to them both times but still...

Vortex rolled almost their entire roster over last season. It took almost the entire season for them to get their chemistry back. They were pretty feisty by the end of the season and will be much improved this year (unless they rolled over the whole roster again, I haven't checked)

Yeah. My Regional Pro Elite team on the regular side DID NOT EVEN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS and they got promoted to Pro.

(to be fair, they were underleveled and finished 8-8, but still they were not a promotable team by any stretch in this tier.

Thanks Meatbomb I find it pretty shitty that some people think Vortex didnt care we kept every game pretty close except for 3 of them. I did my best with that team. Again this season will be tough because the Chemistry is already crap. But I will still do my best to be competitive against you guys.

Saying that the promotion system is pretty crappy how does Foy Destroyers end up out of elite.WTF

It was in no way a bash to your team and I meant no offense. The staff on your team is some of the best in the game. My only WL trophy comes courtesy of MM and the Shockers. I am certainly not of the opinion that you don't care or have some influence on the promotion system.

The fact of the matter is that you guys should have been in RPE last season. If any human care was given to the promotion of casual's best league, they would have swapped you guys or one of the other teams I mentioned with Detroit Destroyers, a team that won their RPE conference in S33 and stayed there for S34.

As it stands now, all leagues are less competitive. CPL is less competitive by having teams in there that don't quite have the hardware for an enjoyable season. A few teams dont even have a shot at playoffs. RPE is less competitive because there are powerhouses in there that will surely take the league gold and blowout most of the teams in their conference.

This is the explanation I got of the promotion process
Thanks for writing in! As far as 'what we're thinking' with team movements... The promotion criteria for Casual Pro are the same as for National Pro in the Regular leagues. The bottom two from each Casual Pro conference demote and promoting teams come from the Elite leagues (winners of conference championship games).

Looking at the teams you mentioned, based on their records it looks like they were placed correctly under the current promotion rules. If your point is that the current rules should be changed, that would be a different issue... I believe Bort is generally pretty satisfied with the current method for organizing the leagues, but if you'd like you could start a thread in the Suggestions Forum and see what kind of response your idea generates with other users.

Fact is they didnt' even follow their own rules by not promoting Florida, and ny promoting mexicans who did not win, nor did they follow them last year, do we need to start a thread?

Yeah, saw you guys were pretty much in the same roster boat again this season (my post got my curiosity up. I think Bier might be in even more dire straight since they are replacing most of their roster with day 240 dots, avoiding relegation will be very tough for them this season)

It's almost like they didn't even bother to look! Can anyone explain how Detroit last season and Florida State this season even REMOTELY came close to "following the rules"

It's all perception I suppose. The part they failed to mention was perception comes at a premium when you're blindfolded.
