Mabye it has to do with tactics? How far the slider is over?

Catch, if you're still reading to this page, is there any possibility of some change with progressions since QB's seem to be more apt to hold on the ball when they are able and then they seem to just stare at the 5th progression until they have to throw.

There has been a suggestion of adding more progressions, or perhaps (one i thought of) that maybe once the QB reaches the 5th progression for a long enough time, will cycle back through to 1 and repeat? Or is this more of a QB tactics setting that might need to change to account for the changes that we'll just have to consider?

On a similar note, how about if the QB is holding the ball forever then make the WRs stop running further downfield and break off their route and come back to the QB? Could be as simple as if QB hasn't thrown after X ticks, have the nearest WR come back towards the QB.

Nope, nor could there be tbh. Funny thing that damned thing called perspective. Even those who just genuinely want a good sim often disagree on what a good sim would be. Usually because of their offensive/defensive/special teams preconceptions.

For instance I expect that you will want to see more turnovers whereas Ken1 will want to see fewer...

Lower levels the QB just holds the ball and tucks and runs, quite a bit. Never done this in the past. Set to run never and scramble never. Also missing open Receivers while doing this.

yeah, the last couple of games, my qb is running more, and I have him set to never run.

and at just about all levels, scramblers/dual threats with the run frequency set to often have been tucking and running after a split second look at the first target. Going to see if setting it to sometimes will at least allow them to go through a few progressions before tucking it.

Ok, only had one scrimmage so far, but I didn't see much on special teams that would cause me to say the game is broken. There was one more guy busting through than normal, sometimes two, but our return average was about what it's been the last few seasons. And those guys busting through could of been STOPS going up against non STOPS on my special teams or in the case of the one or two I looked at, our STOPS were short on block, very short.

Main problem I am seeing is that our QBs set to "rush: almost never" are now tucking and running quite often, with predictable results. Both QBs on this Pee Wee team are set to almost never. Links below from last scrim. QB sliders also set pretty far over (70+) towards open man. Throwaway risk is at medium. But still we can't stop them tucking and running 4 times in a single game? That's not "almost never".

I changed my preset AI from run first to power, my QB didn't run

I'm just using my own pre-season AI. Shouldn't really matter what we're using though: the QB sliders should take care of it. And they did, until this pre-season. I don't think my passing QBs (set to run: almost never/scramble: almost never) have ever tucked and run before, that I can recall.

Question about punt returns. Look at this one http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1981401&pbp_id=809468. Notice the three dots that rush the punter instead of blocking for the return. I've seen similar stuff before, but nothing so exaggerated. Doesn't make since unless you change the SIM to allow punt blocks and give us a tactic to either block the punt or block for the return. As is, I always assumed everything was about the return, so all Dots block.

Changelog updates.

Feb 19, 2012
- Adjusted defense reaction ability slightly better vs the run
- Adjusted run blocking balance slightly toward the defender's favor
- Adjusted QB risk/patience values for defenders in endzone to fix some issues with the ball being held too long
- Fixed issue with punt return gunners turning around before the punt instead of heading to PR

Yep. My rookie QBs, both set to never scramble, are getting sacked multiple times from tucking the ball while under minimal pressure.

Seriously, somebody needs to fix this.
