Bort should have got it right the first time or got rid of it all together. I mean it served its original purpose which was to determine if SSB was as big of a problem as everybody thought.

Actually, the damage has already been done. The people who were on the edge most likely got pushed over today. The rest are a step closer than they were yesterday. I hope bort and catch learn from this because I still like this game.

He did get it right, 15 seasons ago or whenever he first did the evaluation. What he didn't do was run this every season or two to keep the numbers changing. There is no damage. People who went over the edge because their effective value changed, frankly they probably won't be missed because they were going to rage quit when their team went 7-9 one season or lost 3 games in a row.

This is a non issue and if people are actually quitting over it... i doubt they would have stayed here very long once they start hitting levels of play where their teams get smashed every 2 days for a month.

Losing agents for any reason other than a loss of interest creates a domino effect that has been amplified by the age capped minor leagues.

Did your 45 (55) QB play like crap? If so, who cares if he was effectively 10 levels better than expected.

Does your 45 (44) QB play like the top QB at his level? If so, who cares that he's effectively 1 level worse than expected.

Its a number...nothing more, nothing less.

Get on it Bort!

I thought I was playing "easy mode". We call it Casual!

Surely there's a greasemonkey script in the works that will make all players appear to be XX/85.

Bort should start selling boosts in effective levels for flexies.
There is money to be made here... for Free!

LOL. Nothing has changed with your Dot. It still does what it has always done. It's kind of like the housing bust. Despite the house value dropping, you still have the house, the payment is the same and your income is the same. Only your perception of the home's value changed.

I wonder just how good of a measuring tool effective levels really are. Take O linemen as an example. Popular culture tends to lean towards strength, blocking and agility as the top three attributes. In either archetype one of these three are a minor skill. So if the majority of agents address these three attributes with top priority, an agent who treats major attributes with the same priority will end up with a higher effective level. The question is which player is better in the sim?

I could always make a position with 3 majors, and just put every SP into 1 attribute, while training the other two majors and spending all BTs on SPs etc and get a crazy high EL

but no one would want the player on their team....

it's a tool that's fun to look at, but people that use it blindly while recruiting are stupid for the reason you posted.

Almost, but it's not really exactly like that as if you suddenly need to sell your house you can be in for a world of hurt. It's more like claiming that the bank ripped you off by giving you a dollar bill instead of 4 quarters because 4 is greater than 1.
