Was fairly obvious. Madrid should have been good enough this season.

They went 0 cares. Just look at the frequency of their playcalls, not much was changing game to game.

Agree. I see this on D and O on many teams. Alot of people call themselves coords but then due to a busy life or not knowing any better they set there plays at the beginning of the year and then never change them. You gotta scout, you gotta assign receivers, you gotta change up your defensive coverage.

Not that hard of a game to understand. Just a matter of being involved.

Regular season game planning is what gets you the favorable playoff matchups. Which in turn leads to easier wins. I see a lot of teams that say lolregular season get quickly knocked out of the playoffs by those that did game plan during the regular season. To each his own I guess.

<=== Hasn't gameplanned (on defense) for a regular season game in 3 seasons.

My other GMs can confirm I still have the same base AI in from S21 (it's called Seismos - S21). I stake no claim in any work done by the OC, as I don't touch that side of things.

I agree 100%. Thanks for pointing that out!!

Sorry I didn't have 10 hours per day like some people this season to game plan.

We will be back but it may take a couple seasons now. I won't be off my schedule till December and can't find a OC that will do the job.

My apologies to Social Assassin for wasting a season of his WRs career here in Madrid.

Hopefully we don't get moved back too far I liked the hard ass league and would like to stay in it.

Good luck and sorry we let some of you down!!

I'll admit I do way less on the D side of the ball once I am done with my initial stuff most of the regular season but I have a fairly fluid D AI with a lot of different plays for different common scenarios. Still every few games or so I will do some very specific things against an opponent who shows the same thing consistently.

Just looking at your last 4 games I can tell your OC doesn't sit on his hands though. Each game has distinct plays being called and different progressions being used.

I don't spend more than 15-20 minutes for most games during the regular season unless I am super bored. Playoffs and tournament games I put in much more time but I at least tweak a few things on offense every game. The side benefit to doing it is that I never have a problem recruiting since the agents I go after can see that we change things up from game to game.

I find there are two purported ways to game plan:

1) Watching some film of your opponent, trying to figure out a bit about how their defense runs, planning your personnel packages, plays, and progressions based on what you think you understand.

2) Not watching games at all, but somewhat randomly changing your offensive packages a bit to prevent someone from completely overloading on certain plays.

This season I did some of #2, but none of #1.

I still remember watching a game we played last season (Seimos I think?) and seeing 9 defenders clustered where the ball was headed...lol. I guess just doing #2 is probably a worthwhile effort
