I had Apatity on my list. 2nd best team we played last season imo, if not for comeback magic they could very likely have been playing BSS for the league trophy.

I'm thinking of taking the season off for this exact reason. No reason to try to gameplan my ass off all season just to try to make up 23 or more SP on the other top teams. We'll probably work just hard enough to make the playoffs, to make sure we don't get demoted, but that's probably about it.

+1 That's a safe bet.

Beat Manchester by 56 in the regular season and then 32 points in the playoffs. Beat Apatity by 25 regular season and by 7 in overtime in the playoffs after making an insane comeback. Apatity is Awesome!

imo Manchester was at best the third best team in the conference last season, NNP looked good too and I believe they played you close both games losing the important one and winning the other.

Well when a team keeps losing to you and thanks you for it love happens.

Effective levels will be more meaningful every season from here until plateau, but gameplanning (or lack thereof) will still be the deciding factor this season I suspect.

Says the guy with the highest EL

I mean, ultimately you're right and you're not right. WL teams in the bottom 10 of EL have made it to the final four, and a lot of team EL is determined by its top EL players like K/P (what). QB too, yeah, but QBs are so similar I feel like the difference of 1-2 throwing or vision or strength is negligble.

Then again, I am on night 6 of 7 of drinking heavily out of town

They were also a kneel away from being first round losers

Hood has relatively low K/P sp values, which is currently a large part of effective level at the top of the game.

The newer generations have a little more parity in that regard.

Probably the biggest effective level differential in this league has to do with carrying 1,2 or 3 QBs, since they tend to be above the EL of the rest of the team.
