What I love about this league is that it is extremely competitive which brings the forums to life. What I don't like about this league is that it is competitive pretty much on three levels. There are the top dogs such as BOSS, ALPS, G Dogs, Muskrats etc.., then there are those of us in the second tier such as the BUTCHERS, PACHYDERMS, PTOWN and Red Bank and then there are the lower tier teams. Each grouping has between 6-8 teams that are able to beat each other on any given day. Unfortunately, its not likely that those of us in the secod tier are going to beat BOSS or the ALPS anytime soon nor are those in the bottom tier such as the CHEERLEADER SQUAD going to beat the BUTCHERS or PTOWN any time soon.

Just a local bitch, but just wish Bort would have figured out a way to have evenly matched teams throughout a league where most seasons any team has a chance. I have been in one league like that way back in seasons three through about season seven in Canada A, AA and finally to AAA before teams finally started disbanding and the leveling of some teams versus others finally gave to much seperation between those that were active on the forums and for there teams and those that just played.

Ok, enough of the bitch session. On with the show. Hoping to make the playoffs and maybe to hear the words repeated "Do you believe in miracles" as we shock the world.

i wasnt trying to make it sound like that. i thought about it before i posted but couldnt find a good way to make my point without rambling. guess i will now.

many owners enjoy the fact that their team is on top and continues to remain there. so with manofplays post, they would be like, eh who cares. yall are the ones down there. i like it just the way it is. bort shouldnt touch it. so my point was i agree 100% with manofplay. While i like to win, there are spans were we dont have to gameplan and that takes away from not only the true meaning of football, but removes the fun for others. over time, those teams will just quit. its a big problem in GLB. We lose so many teams going up because they keep relegating back to rookie.

I am one for promoting competition and would like to see the gaps close in the leagues. I answer all questions that have come to me. As I have had to ask questions from time to time, I would hate it if I did not get help, a smartass answer, or an incorrect one.
Well, if the team goes in the wrong direction it may be the only alternative to reset (or jump to an easy pickings league like Bastard Sons of Royalty did). In any case, learning what went wrong is a big part of the reset otherwise the same mistakes reoccur, IMO.

Ok, so Handmonster, let me start by saying I totally respect you and frickin hate your team. :-) That being said. WHAT?
Lol, you lost me on your response.

"I am one for promoting competition and would like to see the gaps close in the leagues."
Completely in line with this one. I had thought that when several of you were talking about moving as a group together to a higher league, it sucked that my team wasn't one of them, but I thought it was a great idea to take the cream of the crop from this league and mix with the hopefully cream of the crop from another league. Course I was also being selfish in hoping that the departure of the studs allowed for us seventh graders to become the new king of campus.

"I answer all questions that have come to me. As I have had to ask questions from time to time, I would hate it if I did not get help, a smartass answer, or an incorrect one."
This is a cool answer, just not sure what it was answering. Seemed like you did like my wife does and jumped from one topic to another with the middle portion missing. :-)
I think answering questions for those that are learning or need assistance is cool. Heck, in our own league I had one of the owners give me advice on setting up special teams (which very few people would probably be brave enough to do). Will let him speak up if he wishes, but I certainly appreciated and have benefited from the advice. Unfortunately I am not sure I have the horses to really compete with y'all top dogs, but hopefully my team and I can make it competitive. Doesn't mean I am ready to flip leagues, ask for demotion or what have you. Back when I actually had time to really concentrate on the game back in seasons two on, it took me three seasons before I was able to topple some of the super powers and get promoted to AA.

Long winded answer for saying I agree with everything you said, just not sure how it all connected. :-)

Well if anyone needs my help just ask. I have always welcomed it and I don't care if you are in my league or even conference. I can attest to what Hand said. He and I have a few helpful discussions.

manofplay. i think voegma got it.

Handmonster is saying if help is needed, he is willing to give it. he would hate it if someone gave him bad info or smartmouthed him, so he wouldnt do it to someone else. that middle line confused me as well for a bit.

and ill echo what HM and voegma said, any help needed, i am always willing to give it. i was the one needing help one so i understand where many people come from.

How do I beat you Boss and Washington, oh and Georgia too? With the players I currently have?

P.S. Washington would be especially helpful right now since we play them next. :-)

I don't think it is going to happen no matte what you do, unless you hack them and put players out of position on the depth chart.

One thing that concerns me about your players specifically is that they have lower effective levels then they do actual levels. I know it happens here and there with certain builds but it is pretty consistent. Did you multi-train?

I know your post was made in jest but I figured I would throw that out there.

just looking at your top 4 offensive players...

1. i agree with voegma. aside from mortimer, your other hbs are under their level in effective levels. how do you train?

2. you have 2 elusive backs and 1 power back. In a regular league, that is a must, but in a casual that is a no no. Power backs are great up the middle, but elusive are useful by hitting the corners. You have no power to rotate which back is called on which play. This puts you at a disadvantage because your power back will be used in plays special for the elusive back. and vice versa.

3. rushing qb? again, you have no power to decide which QB will be in the play when the CPU calls a rush QB play.

you need to decide whether you will run an elusive set, power, etc. and for your qbs, will you rush or pass. then keep that steady with the entire roster.
