yep. I love my DT and his build, but I cannot wait to retire him and turn him into a dot that produces at all.

As for the "WL DT" post... can I get that in a sortable list :b But really I like any of the ones with 150+ str, 78+ speed, near 100 agi, 70+ vision, near 80 tack.

If I am going to build a Nose Tackle, hoping that the sim will have changed somewhat in the future, what is the best Custom SA?
I was looking at First Step, Aura of Intimidation, Monster Hit or Diving Tackle. Opinions gratefully received.

I disagree with FS, provided you are not aiming for speed around 80. With the standard NT, you are looking at:

105 Strength
100 Agility
90 Tackling
70 Vision
70 Speed
60 Stamina
50 Jumping

For SA’s, Shed, Strong Base, Wall, and Break Through will be more than enough to drain any remaining SP at end build.

I toss in capping jumping due to some findings with regards to diving tackles, PD’s, and other situations where DT’s have had better rates throughout good and bad DL seasons.

I remember when it was common for all DL to have 8+ FS, then the last couple of seasons absolutely destroyed FS’ usefulness. Fact is, the post break block evasive moves (rip, spin, etc) provide a bit of an acceleration boost. Going with 100 natural agility, then tossing in 5-10 points from equipment, Quick, Tech Man, etc, should provide the NT the best chance of breaking the block and pressuring the QB. This will still give the NT 150-155 strength, which is more than enough. Add in WW, and you have another +4.7ish.

Disagree if you like, just my two cents.

Further reasoning now that the forum servers seem to be working a little better today.

The primary goal for all interior linemen involves breaking the block. With the changes the cancels a Def dot ability to attempt a tackle roll while being double teamed means further focus on breaking block attributes, VA’s, and SA’s are needed. This season seems to be very nice for stats, but based on bort’s trends, I do not put much faith in the fact that these trends will continue throughout the lifespan of a dot.

So why should a NT who normally does not see many opportunities for FS to fire invest in FS... Triggering FS requires acceleration to dip below a threshold that usually arises at the start of the play and maybe one other time pending on the type of play. You will always be trying to break a block, so why not invest in those attributes followed by whatever increases the chances for making the tackle at the NT position.

As a NT where should my natural strength be at level 16?

Depends on your build plan and goals. I would imagine low to mid 80’s. I am probably off by a little as I am just doing this with fuzzy math in my head.

Just began building my first DT in this new building system and have been running builds through the VPB and this is what I came up with. Does anyone have any criticism or constructive feedback they could provide?

Position: dt_run_stuffer
Level: 79
VA: 71
Bonus Tokens: 1362
SP: 61

Attributes:
strength : 104
speed : 72.07
agility : 91.07
jumping : 35
stamina : 64.07
vision : 75.06
confidence : 51
tackling : 88.98

He still had 61 sp to spend, but wasnt to sure where to distribute in the SA trees. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.
