Oh boy, this will get worse.. There needs to be more than going for it on 4th and short short.. Do you pass, run, you need percentages option, etc.. etc.. I can already see it now when there is a stop on 4th and .5... I'll .........+1

-1 If you want to be able to go for it on 4th, get out of casual.....
Unless it is linked with a specific score deficit, similar to real FB, late in games, but in the end, one team will get an advantage by being in a position to go for it on 4th down, end up scoring a winning TD or FG, when the other team was forced to punt on short yardage....it too complex of an issue to allow for a check box to give an advantage. It would be sad to have a defense stop a team on 3rd down only to see them run a slam for 1 yard on 4th to get a 1st down, march down the field converting 3-4 4th downs and score to win the game....
The only times I've seen a team go for it is when they are trailing big late in the 4th qtr....other times, it is linked to FG/punt distance settings.
If you can't get a 1st down in 3 downs, punt or kick a FG, imo.

you've never seen a team go for it on 4th and inches? Granted maybe not inside their 40 yard line, but it's a pretty common occurrence for 4th and 1 yard or less.
edit: oh... or are you saying in casual leagues? If you are saying for casual leagues... I think that kind of supports the OP and not against it

Not closing this but it's unlikely to happen as Bort's stance has always been if you want non-casual options, play in a non-casual league. Every time we add something to Casual it becomes less and less casual and that's not the direction GLB wants to take with Casual leagues.
Maybe an option to go for it on 4th down (user defined distance) in the 4th quarter when down by X number of points or a checkbox to go for it on 4th and <1 but complete freedom to go for it on 4th down the entire game I don't see happening.
