That kind of crap-talk doesn't lend any credibility to the legitimate objections that exist. GLB doesn't compete against football sims--it competes against anything and everything that people can and do spend money and time on. Every move it makes that adds time and cost without simultaneously increasing the fun and satisfaction quotient is a move that makes those other options more attractive. The game proceeds in that direction at its own risk.

I want to thank Bort and Catch for bringing these changes into the game for next season. I have tried to walk away from this game for a couple of seasons now, Pro league GLB was just no fun anymore so I dropped down and rebuilt and for the last 2 seasons I have been enjoying my GLB again despite the massive time commitment needed to do it right and compete. Having fun made it seem that my time commitment to the game could be justified, these new changes give me the reason to call it a day. I can no longer justify to myself the time commitment or indeed the feeling I just got screwed over for managing my franchise well over the seasons. Looks like I just got 10 hours a week back and in time for summer too.

Excellent post. If you thought there were too many CPU teams now, just wait until the new changes roll out.

What a fucking disaster. You'd almost think Bort was deliberately trying to find a way to blow this thing up.

By the way, I have a team someone can have next year. Absolutely no effing way I'm investing this much time into the insanity being implemented here.

I was just thinking how easy it would be to just make 55 players, make 5 of my guys coaches, never talk to anyone ever again, block all pms, sell every team but 1, never post on the forums, just abuse this system to the nth degree, and win 2-3 wl titles and never communicate with anyone on this site ever again

This was the plan all along...GLB needs some way to cut back on teams so they get a bunch of people to ragequit

I haven't read all 127 pages of this, but high salary does not equal high morale (and the in-game benefits that come from having high morale). If anything, a guys performance will decline after getting a big contract. It's the lower-paid guys who are playing for their first big contract who often perform at their highest level.

You're the first to point this out.

Guess we never thought of it that way.
