Each archetype is going to have one custom SA that is unique for that archetype. For the next three days we are going to take suggestions from the GLB users on potential ideas for this. At the end of the three days, I'll collect the best ones for each archetype and we'll go over them on the test server with the testers and Bort.

Here's a couple things to think about when suggesting a SA for the archetype:

1) It must be realistic (no "make the RB pull out a gun ala The Last Boy Scout if about to get tackled" SA's)
2) It must not be overpowered (no +10 to all attributes or things that would imbalance the game)
3) It must be something that makes sense for that archetype (for example, don't suggest an elusive back type ability for a power back).

It's also important to note that we will likely be getting rid of some VA's that already doing archetype things so we might be looking for a SA that will help take the place of that VA (some off the top of my head are Scat Back, Bull Rusher, and Technique Man but there are more that will be removed, I have to go through them all and figure it out)

Deadline to make a suggestion is 1:00 a.m. on 2/15/2010. This thread will be locked at that time. Please understand that your suggestion may not be used.

Try and post your custom SA's in the following format:

Archetype Name - Name of Custom Archetype SA
Brief description (<200 words, it should be simple to understand) of what the SA does. Be specific if it is supposed to increase a particular skill.

Example:

Power HB - Gunslinger
This ability allows a power back to have a % chance to pull out their six shooter and gun down anyone who gets in between them and the end zone.

QB Pocket Passer - Hot Read: The QB sees the blitz comming and has the WR break off the route to give the QB a chance to throw him the ball. Each level gives a bonus to the QB's vision to spot a blitz.

Could also be a crossover or used by the Possession WR to spot the blitz and break off the route, or by a blocking FB/combo FB where it would give the FB an increase to vision to spot & block a blitzing player.

So something like these?

Stength DL- Solid Footing
A proc chance to add a % of strength as Agility while engaged by a blocker

Speed DL- quick recovery
A proc chance to force a re-roll when pancaked.

Speed DE - Karate Kid
Hand-checking skills = % increase in break block chance.

HB Combo - X-Factor (or, more appropriately, the Duke Nuke 'Em)
Equal % increase/decrease in strength/speed on inside runs, speed/strength on outside runs, catching/carrying on passes.

QBs:

Pocket Passer: Quick Read.
Each level of Quick Read helps the QB read through his progressions more quickly and find the open man.

Deep Passer: Arm Cannon.
Each level of Arm Cannon increases the velocity of a passes over 10 yards so the ball gets there quicker on deep routes.

Scrambler: Rushing Pump Fake.
You see QBs do this all the time while scrambling in real life. Each level of RPF increases the likelihood and effictiveness of a running pump fake while the QB is scrambling.

HBs:

Power HB: Bowling Ball.
Each level of Bowling Ball decreases the impact of a missed tackle on the rushers balance, speed, and momentum, making breaking consecutive tackles more likely.

Elusive HB: Hurdle.
Each level of Hurdle increases the likelihood and effectiveness of a hurdle (used to evade diving tackles and to stretch for extra yardage when tackled).

HB Scat Back: Blazing Hands.
Each level in this skill increases the ability to catch passes in stride without slowing down.

HB Combo: Duality.
Each level in this skill gives a small boost to breaking tackles AND to fake outs.

WRs:

WR Speedster: Zone Buster
Each level of Zone Buster gives a vision penalty to all defenders playing zone defense, when the WR is currently within their zone.

WR Possesion: Circus Catch.
Each level in this SA increases the WR's ability to make catches while covered tightly especially along the sideline or in the endzone.

WR Power: Turn Upfield.
Each level of Turn Upfield reduces the chance of having a catch knocked loose and increases the chance of breaking a tackle that occurs immediately after the catch.

Hard Hitting LB Get to the Ball

Each level of Get to the Ball gives a bonus to breaking blocks on rushing plays or blitzes.

Boomer Kicker - Full Swing
Each level of Full Swing gives a bonus to strength and a distance bonus on kickoffs.

Finesse Kicker - Icy Veins
Each level Icy Veins gives a bonus to confidence and kicking when kicking field goals less than 30 yards and extra points.

Boomer Punter - Steel Toe
Each level of Steel Toe gives a bonus to strength and hangtime when punting from your own side of the 50.

Finesse Punter - Coffin Corner
Each level of Coffin Corner gives a bonus to punting and vision when kicking on the opponents' side of the 50.

Special Teams Only Player - Can't think of a good name
Each level of this gives an increase in making tackles and holding blocks when playing on either side of kickoffs or punts.

Returner - Human Joystick
Each level of Human Joystick gives a bonus to vision and agility when returning kicks/punts.

This one should be given to MVPs there could be 1 per league given out to any player that wins o , d, sts, mvps and only if they stay in the same region/league.

OL Run Blocking- Mean

This lineman has a chip on his shoulder and takes it out on his opponents. Each level of Mean reduces the morale and stamina of the defensive player being blocked on running plays.

Scat Back Archetypes

You're the Scat Man
SA - Ski Ba Bop Ba Dop Ski Ba Bop Ba Dop Bop, I'm the Scat Man. This player is very adept adept at catching passes.
Each level of You're the Scatman Increases the likely hood that your back will make the catch the catch in traffic.

Power Back -
Truckin' - Each level of truckin' reduces the amount of slow down incurred when a power back plows over a would be tackler.

Combo LB -

Utility Man - This linebacker can do it all. Each level of this SA gives a slight boost to both making the tackle and the ability to keep up with a speedy receiver.

Coverage LB - In the Blink of an Eye

Each level of this SA gives the LB a speed and agility boost from the start of the play until he has reached the TE/HB/FB assigned to him.


So if the DC wants the MLB to cover the TE1, he won't have to move him quite right over the TE, cause with this SA he'd get a boost in his speed and agility to get the covering the TE quicker, without leaving a running gap open. Also can be used to get to the HB/FB quicker because you're not always sure which side of the field which one is gonna run a route on.

Elusive Back -
Escape Artist - This back knows how to get out of tight situations. Each level increases the effectiveness of this back's fake arsenal.
