I'm not so sure it is. granted i don't have a ss but my fs has jumping on 20 and he made 26 pd's last season

Yeah jumping in the low 20's gets you pds. I only got 7 pds last season but have jumping at 12. I hear strength increases force fumbles. My SS has strength at 30 but I guess strength at 35 should be good for getting more FF.

Also I am a big advocate of not using the SA tree until you have really defined your player. I am going to boost at the start of season 3 and will be LV 18 and am finally going to put my first points into the SA tree, mainly the Vision one and closing speed, I am all set to have a monster year for Season 3 I will keep you all posted on my progress.

Make sure you put alot into super vision, that is probably the most important

FF's also depend on the strength of the player you are hitting. If you hit a weakling WR with a low 20's SS you're bound to get FF's. Also the worse your DL is the better stats you're SS/FS will have, which will naturally increase FFs. Most of the offenses my team fast were stopped within 3 or 4 yards at most (stopped by DL or LBs). Very rarely did my SS come in contact with opposing players (2-3 tackles a game).

To get back on topic 35-40 strength should be enough to force fumbles on those inside running power backs.

My SS is pretty good so far. Whenever we play against pass heavy teams he gets a good bit of INTs and PDs. I know what to work on with him though, so I expect to see his numbers and performance rise.

I've just created a SS and am really looking forward to building him this season. looking at some of the builds, I have a pretty good idea where I want to take him and how, but I'll see as the season goes on if I can stick to the plan!

Wouldn't really put too much stock in catching for a SS. I know I wouldn't sign a guy who had 30 catching and would always go for the INT and give up TDs.

SS is either going to be playing over the top or on a TE when in pass coverage. Rarely are they in man.

IMO SS need very high speed/agility/vision so they can get to the line fast and help stuff the run. I think the coverage SA tree is better even for run stuffers as Super Vision and Closing Speed seem to be the most important attributes for a SS no matter what they're doing.

My thinking is that you want your SS to be able to read the play and have the speed to get to it. Now that I've addressed those concerns, I'll start focusing on tackling and agility. As tackling improves, I'll update my advanced options (he's set on wrap up atm) until he's tackling with power. I plan one alternating his training between str, jumping and catching until they are in the mid 20's.

I've put together a formula for builds (actually a whole spreadsheet) and now I've building a SS. So of you guys have pretty interesting builds. My formula is predicated on speed, meaning that speed is the X factor to determining all other levels.

Agility = X x __% (it's way above 50%)

So if you have a Speed of, let's say, 50, you need way more than 25 agility. As some have stated, speed without agilty is nothing. I know because I have a WR and jacked his speed way up and got nowhere.

Vision = X x __% (it's about the same as Agility)

You get the idea. It's been fun putting it together and then searching these forums (the Clubs) for guys that are "successful" and plugging their numbers into my sheet. On many occasions, I've been within a point or two of every attribute.
