I personally think that building a SS is pretty hard especially on a team that requires him or her to be a run stuffer and/or coverage.

My guy Boulware is coming along but it took at least to level 15 to get some results...

I think that agility is key to pass deflections. Mine is only at like 19 (as you know it's a difficult build). I saw another guy whose was 27 and he had like 9 PDs. I somehow have zero which is a little strange, but it could've been my entire defense and/or tactics.

My SS is only Lv. 4 and I cazn already tell its going to be an awkward road as far as getting the correct base goes.

i think my ss is going pretty decent so far 81 takles 1 pick 6 pd but our defense was pretty bad this season so thats why i had so many takles

Yeah...to contrast, my pair of safeties get under like 40 tackles last season each. So how well you safeties do is in parallel of how well the front 9 do...

My SS was pretty dormant this past season until the end when I was able to 'put it together' and had enough speed, agility and vision to get to the play around level 10 or so.. (wound up level 13 last season). Caused turnovers, 2 for TDs in the last two games. It's a hard balance between speed, agility, vision and then trying to still pay attention to strength and tackling, that's for sure.

I'm looking forward to the first few games of this next season when I'll be able to go over 50 speed and re-do my equipment to maximize my build.

jumping is key for pds. How much catching do you think is reasonable, 20?

My SS stats went up and down over the course of the year as my guy got better and then the rest of the d started getting better and stats dropped a bit.

I think the key at SS is that you're there when needed - whether it to turn a long run into a missed first down, or to get a receiver who wasn't tackled by CB.

Covering the TE really seems to be the easiest part of the job.

I'm not so sure it is. granted i don't have a ss but my fs has jumping on 20 and he made 26 pd's last season

I think that the SS build is by far the funnest to build. I am working on a real balanced SS and will have 4 stats in there 40's at the start of next season. Also I am a big advocate of not using the SA tree until you have really defined your player. I am going to boost at the start of season 3 and will be LV 18 and am finally going to put my first points into the SA tree, mainly the Vision one and closing speed, I am all set to have a monster year for Season 3 I will keep you all posted on my progress.

My SS was 3rd on the depth chart untill I boosted him in the last 4 games and during that time he did really well. During the last 4 regular season games and then in the playoffs he had a combined 32 tackles, 7 pd, and 1 int.

I like his build, but of course I'm biased

Strength: 23.22 Blocking: 11.86
Speed: 40.4 Tackling: 22.2
Agility: 30.17 Throwing: 10
Jumping: 14.73 Catching: 16.1
Stamina: 32.4 Carrying: 11.86
Vision: 33.08 Kicking: 7
Confidence: 13.37 Punting: 9
