I shopped a few times today with some players and nothing really stood out other than the +2 agility +1 defense general that my DT rolled. They didn't seem to match any of the training although confidence seemed to throw up a lot of fake% pieces.0_O

It's taken almost 4 weeks of shopping and light training to find EITHER a "swat ball" or "intercept chance" for my L14 FS. This is fucking horseshit. Yes, as valuable and loveable as shit from horses. NEITHER piece??? In almost 4 WEEKS??? At LEAST, for offensive players, let him go to the OFFENSIVE store. Defensive players can have DEFENSIVE stuff to buy. WHY, sgould it take so long tp get something relative to one's build?

rant complete

can you be more specific? that it takes this long to see any of either swat OR intercept pcs, or the fact that I didnt retire my FS in the off-season?

you definitely get a lot more "possibilities" when you are higher level but unfortunately that doesn't translate to better pieces. imo it's definitely harder to find good pieces and +3, attribute pieces are still really rare. For me the best time to shop is between level 25 and 40, I've only ever gotten one good piece past that.

It's hard to roll anything real good when you're at level 14.

I've had a few theories

Better stuff more likely - Everything is available at first, just the %s slowly move off the shitty stuff and toward the good stuff as you level up

More stuff becomes available - As you level up, more and more is unlocked.

Combine those two theories at will...

Based on your build - Basically replace "level up" with "as your bars go up" in the above theories

My personal opinion, though only partially grounded in evidence is...

As you level up, more and more stuff becomes available. You start with ALL of the out of position SAs, and as you level up slowly 2% turns into 3% into 5%, +1 into +2 into +3, and more and more SAs become available along your tree. My theory extends to say that things don't become more LIKELY, simply become POSSIBLE. So as you unlock more and more, you'll still get all the junk, but some of the good stuff is possible, too.

My evidence/opinions stem from

1) This is much, much easier to code than shifting %s away from low and toward high. It simply allows Bort to add to your item list, and randomly draw from them with a few restrictions like no two SAs together, etc.
2) When you start out, you get out of position SAs like crazy, but then start seeing them less and less. This is evidence of the group of items possible growing, not the items themselves becoming less likely relative to others.
3) Building my o-line, I'll find basically only run block / pass block / get low early on. Then cut block, shock block start to show up, then finally protect and pancake etc.

What my theory lends itself to is

1) wait until you are level 30+ (this is when I start to see the last SAs and +3s)
2) if you want an out of position piece, FIND IT EARLY. Chances are, it will come with nothing attached. But that could be better than waiting 2 seasons to get it down the road when your rolls will be stuffed with crap you don't care about.

For example, rolling for my FB at level 7 I got first step, first step, route run, dive for yards, return specialist ALL THE TIME but never anything in the tree. They were basically all blank, sometimes +1, and I said what the hell I'll pick up two first step.

FYI... and because Octowned is a smart guy... I have a sneaky suspicion that levels, i.e. level 32 specifically, plays a p big role in AEQ rolls.

This is really weird cuz I found 3 awesome pieces for my QB in his peewee season in the space of one week and now cant hit a single pass-defense piece for my L14 FS in 4 weeks.

So, I got lucky both times apparently - the first, good, the second - shyte

So, just buy any token-holders early and roll equip to keep in later levels so you dont short yourself attribute pts early in career?

Yep, that'll work.

You don't need token-holders anymore.

Just keep 30+ bonus tokens on-hand until you're L25-ish and ready to shop? You won't lose them over the off-season?

Nope, they carry over now.
