Another day, another +1, and another additional thought....

I think you need to add some negative fan support for demotions. As it stands a team could do really well for 4 seasons, then gut but not be sold, and retain alot of it's fan support in the BBB leagues for many seasons while they completely rebuild. A single demotion should not erase 4 seasons of quality play, but multiple demotions or a demotion of multiple levels should put a huge dent in them.

I thought about that. It's a good idea as well, but I don't know if I want to hurt someones fan support for a SINGLE demotion, as it should already be in the crapper....and frankly, there is no reason to hurt it more, however it would help teams that want to gut and move down when it shouldn't.....

Good idea, just not sure about implementation.

I agree on the single demotion. There does not even have to be a penalty for that, but multiple demotions or back to back demotions should hurt a team's fan support IMO.

Well it will still change game by game, however it will definitely put much more of a premium on the past, and it will give you the opportunity to gain permanent fan support as well.

I like the idea in general. I think it needs more of your bonuses... maybe...

Winning Season (9+ wins in a season): +5 +3 +1 for the next season
Underdog win (wins a playoff game vs higher seed): +10 +7 + 4 for 2 seasons
Winning Streak (6+ Wins in a row): +6 +4 +2 until end of current season
Winning Season Streak (3+ seasons in a row with 9 wins or more): +8 +5 +3 (recalculate at start of each season)
Playoff Streak (make playoffs 3+ seasons in a row): +8 +5 +3
Defeated an undefeated team with at least 4 wins: +5 +3 +1 for a season
If all your losses were by 10 points or less: +3 +3 +1

Just throwing some out there. I think your fan support system with the math you've done ends up a few points too low in a few cases and a few more bonuses could be fun anyway

Especially if they were to actually get shown on the page that shows fan support which bonuses you currently have

edit: I just threw some numbers together quickly as examples, in an official type system they'd have to be balanced and tested with a wide sample of teams, etc.

I like this idea. Have bonuses for concessions maybe as well... Not bad....not bad, but first things first, FIX THE FAN SUPPORT PLEASE

I know I probably sound like a Debbie Downer every time I post on this thread, but I really like the idea and if you only post about ways to raise the Fan Support without the balancing ways to lower fan support, it is not likely to be implemented.

Thus, I think some more effort needs to be put into the corresponding ways to lose fan support so that it is fair to the team with a long history of winning, but still punishes a team that goes on a long losing streak. After all, the point of this whole discussion was not to figure out a way to allow a team with a record of 14-2, 12-4, 10-6, 6-10, 4-12, 2-14 to have high fan support, but rather to help a team that went 14-2, 13-3, 12-4, 15-1, 1-15 from having an extremely low fan support.

It does in the OP, if you start calculating it up, it really does make it to where a bad record will hurt you however not cripply you if you have had a winning record in the past.

how would promotions and demotions effect the fan base using your system? You'd think that they would have some sort of effect
