Also, if you didn't get a sack when you were building that 60+ point lead, you probably aren't going to get one after that either. I have no idea why some people are assuming that removing cruise control would suddenly produce a ton of sacks. All it would do is make offensive stats truly astronomical.

Max XP is already a bitch for teams with depth in blowout games because of punt returns for TDs and such. Someone earlier suggested that max xp always be given to everyone involved in "blowouts," but it's hard to define what a "blowout" truly is. Instituting a mercy rule to end games at a 100 point lead would not only keep a lid on stats, but give us a pretty conclusive definition of "blowout." So you could easily give max xp to all players involved in any game ended by a mercy rule.

the main thing I don't like is if the team is only like 10 levels lower than you, and they have good game plan. Your defense shuts them out until CC kicks in and then they score more than teams that outleveled you... granted it doesn't cause them to win, but it's annoying to see from a DCs standpoint

Yeah, stats would be even more screwed from playing CPU/gutted teams.

Stats are already screwed for most positions from playing CPU/gutted teams. Would it really be so bad to inflate them more?

This may just be the reason that DEs, DTs, and blitzers look so awful when they play terrible teams.

It wouldn't fix the d-line problem, it would just sate the irritated d-lineman owners while further ruining offensive competition.

Especially with the MVP races now kicking in.

Offensive "competition" ceases to exist in blowout games anyways.

What's wrong with sating the irritated d-linemen owners who can't sniff a sack against terrible opponents, while their offensive counterparts put up 10 TDs? Let's just leave them irritated?

The point is that they're especially impotent when cruise control kicks in, it seems.

The other point is that cruise control was for when energy didn't return to 100. Cruise control doesn't stop big stats for anyone but defense.

I agree with the jrry. There are a few reasons but the one often overlooked is most of us are still testing new stuff as the game evolves and when our players are playing at half speed and what not it really makes it hard to understand what may or may not work...

Make sense?

I fail to see the importance of stat-padding when you're leading by 60+ points. In the absence of a true mercy rule (which wouldn't be a bad idea - just end games once a lead reaches 100), cruise control is the next best thing. As you said, the important thing is to fix DE/OT interactions against even competition. This is just a misguided outlet for frustration over that not being fixed. It does nothing to solve anything, and arguably would make things worse. I'm not sure how we got from massive forum threads bitching about guts ruining stats to now wanting more stats against guts.

why not just have the CPU control what you level up and don't? What I am trying to say is you tell the CPU what you want to be upgraded, when you want to be upgraded, say you tell the CPU to upgrade your blocking over a maximum of 5 points. This succeeds, but you lose 1 point for energy/stamina
