Let's start a "YOUR IDEA IS NOT EPIC" campaign

and also an "apparently Janine isn't a good judge of epic" campaign

There's nothing wrong with this suggestion, I just don't see the point of having an Epic Suggestions forum if this is how we're going to utilize it.

I think this is a perfectly acceptable epic suggestion. It's a small tweak that improves the game for many, just like when Bort made previous season's games easier to get to.

I agree that this should not be an epic, yet. Especially when this, http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=1500889 , has no objection to it, except the one Mod who replied.

I think that the epic section is merely a misuse of Mod power to push suggestions they are in favor of, instead of adding good ideas nearly everyone likes.

And yes, I am pushing my own suggestion, here.

I'm guessing that none of you saying this is stupid have ever had 8 AM games.

Good suggestion.

it isn't a bad idea, but please take it out of epic...otherwise there is no point to having this Epic Suggestions area

8 am for who? And I wake up for work at 430 am, so 8 am is no big deal for me.

I have early work too, so I don't have an issue either now.

Though for teams without owners or GMs in our situation, it'd probably be nice to know exactly how early they need to rise.

OK, back to topic: about the OP: I tend to agree; in that, I would like to know that there's a time (set in concrete) that if you DON'T have changes made to AI or Playbooks by this time (before each game) - they WILL NOT get implemented. This is a simple- straightforward- logical kinda thing. There has to be a set time imo.
As far as sending out any "notifications" , I disagree. Set time is enough...

That's my point exactly. Just a set time so you know when any further changes will not apply, AND you can stop checking your opponents roster to see if they've made any late switches.

This again came into play in last season's playoff run. Our offensive game plan was set based on where 3 of their defenders lined up (they'd never moved in 2 seasons). We checked their depth chart about an hour before kickoff, and nothing had changed. At some point after that, their OLBs and DEs swapped sides, completely negating our blocking scheme & game plan. An excellent move on their part, to be sure, and we credit them 100% with the win.

But knowing a deadline would have been nice as it at least gives you a closer chance of knowing when to check & how much time you have to adjust (if any!).

Okay, you guys all know it has a countdown to games right?

Well, take an hour or more away from that time and that's how long you have to set your tactics or whatever.

Correct, which is what I usually do. The point being that sometimes the last few extra minutes make a difference, and it would just be nice to know when they are.

It's usually around an hour before. I woke up at 545 am to add someone to the DC that couldn't be added the day before.

This is not needed imo. Just make sure all is done an hour before game-time. They don't change time of the game on you.
