This was originally just a request to know exactly when rosters would lock before the sim begins. I started having problems last season with the lockdown coming earlier and earlier as the season wore on. My thought was to implement either a hard "lock deadline" (say, 10:10 for an 11:00 sim), or else some sort of countdown timer to show us how much time is left for last second tweaks.

This season though, rosters are locking later, but it seems changes to the AI and/or Advanced Energy are locking before rosters do. I made several changes for my game tonight (favor backups in a blowout, in particular) about 10-15 minutes before the rosters locked. Yet after the game ran, the backups were never favored.

So the actual request is to have a way to know when the deadline is to make ANY changes, not just to know when rosters will lock.

Understood, but not the point. I'm not saying we always need to worry about doing things at the last second.

But there have been several times that things change the original plan and need to be adjusted.

For example:

- Added (or subtracted) an impact player (or players) at a key position.
- Opponent mass boosted their team after you installed your initial game plan, and/or juggled their depth charts
- Your OC/DC/Waterboy realized they made an AI error
- Further discussions lead to new ideas you want to try to implement before kickoff

Etc.

I completely understand the point about 48 (or more, if you build playbooks in advance) hours. And this shouldn't be viewed as a crutch for those who can't plan properly. All I'm saying is it would be nice to know at what point you are making changes that will no longer impact the game you're planning for.

good suggestion but I agree that you have lots of time to do this before each game.

great suggestion, I had a couple close ones myself and would love to know when is it too late to undo anything you done before the game sims, it can be 30 minutes or even 2 hours, as long as I know a time

Ironically enough, this came into play for a key matchup tonight.
We were able to add a QB we'd needed this morning. I got stuck at work late (firewalled out ... grr!), and couldn't get on until around 9pm EST (kickoff at 11, but locks anywhere from 10:15 on).
The one roster change basically gave me a chance to use a completely different offense, so I was frantically re-entering on one screen while F5ing the roster page on the other. Got 'em all done in time, but actually knowing the deadline would have been a big help!

I agree it you have 2 days to do this and how did this become epic

Yeah this is hilarious. I'm glad Janine thought this was a good idea, but there are threads dying daily with pages upon pages of support that never make it to Epic. Frustrating.
