Except these names would be better:

USA
Canada
South America

Europe
Asia
Africa

Names are open for discussion, it's just the general concept that I'd like to discuss. We can always just put the names up for a vote and the top 6 winners are the ones we use.

Still don't understand why we need another tier before WL. Why not make current Pro leagues more competive instead of change the system compeltely?

This is the only way to make Pro leagues more competitive...

Really? Don't know how many teams you had at this level but I see no need to change Pro. This will not fix anything except more ragequits imo.

If there is any way to avoid National Pro winners from having to be the tops TWICE, then I am for it.

If you make it to National Pro (at any level within) and win it all, you should be sent to WL automatic. Take more from the top NP leagues, but never leave out any Gold winners from Elite NP all the way down to the lowest of National Pro.

The pyramid shceme is the way to go. Lateral moves from Gold trophy winners sounds quite deflating.

I don't think this is adding another tier from what we have already....actually it is a combing of the Pro and Regional Pro into something more effective and competitive, unless I misunderstood the original idea.

From recruiting standpoint, "Elite" Pro or hemisphere or whatever you call them have an advantage. Seems like another tier to me.

I don't see it whether you call it a hemisphere or Elite Pro, it is still there as it is now.

And the teams that bob up and down from Pro to WL don't have this same advantage? If you paid any bit of attention to PLFT this offseason - the teams I represent took LOT of dots that less pro teams were looking at. That's just the way it works

Love it. Hemsiphere leagues would be like a mini WL then. Do it.

Call it:

World League

East Pro League
West Pro League

Then call the feeders anything but pro (let's face it, it's far from professional level).

Maybe this........

World League (16 Teams)
-Bottom 16 demoted to Hemisphere

Pro Elite #1 - Western Hemisphere
-Top 8 to WL
-Bottom 12 to Competitive Western Leagues

Pro Elite #2 - Eastern Hemisphere
-Top 8 to WL
-Bottom 12 to Competitive Eastern Leagues

These leagues feed the Western Hemisphere: Top 4 from each promotes to Elite

Pro Competitive #1 - USA
Pro Competitive #3 - Canada
Pro Competitive #5 - South American

These leagues feed the Eastern Hemisphere: Top 4 from each promotes to Elite

Pro Competitive #2 - Europe
Pro Competitive #4 - Asia
Pro Competitive #6 - African

This "1 million times over". Hemispheres? Really? Dumb IMO. This is simply another "fix" to the problem of GLB not having it's act together with the promotion system TBH.......

Each and every Pro league IS competitive........

anybody who says the Pro leagues, as they are now, are competitive, is completely delusional

Yes because Borf changes with all these age minorsnationalrookiecompetiveregionaletc leagues lead us there. Do you think this suggestion will become the instant cure?

There are currently 24 uncapped leagues:

WL x 1
Pro x 8
Regional x 15

The proposal is asking for:

WL x 1
Hemisphere x 2
Feeder x 6
Regional x ???

One of the nice things about advancing through the minors in the Elite system is the development of rivalries and building the community. Teams that stay together will have something in common to talk about and will care more about the game. The current suggestion has WAY too much turnover of the top leagues. Half of the teams in the WL change every season, and you are asking for a 100% turnover of the teams in the hemispheres. This same problem will exist in the feeder system.

I think this idea could be vastly imporved by doing the following:

1) Reduce the number of teams dropping from WL from 16 to 12 or 10.
2) Reduce the number of teams promoting from hemispheres to WL to 12 or 10 (Winners, then Conference, tiebreaker)
3) Reduce the number of teams demoting from the hemispheres from 32 to 24 or 20.
4) Eliminate the 'Feeder Systems' and just make three Elite Pro leages, three competitive Pro leagues, and the rest normal Pro leagues.
5) Hemisphere would demote to Elite.
6) Teams would need to win their way into Elite in order to promote. No sandbaggers promoting through other leagues.

And what IS the problem being fixed here? Competitiveness at National Pro level? If so then extend Plateau a season. This increases pro level players by 16 to 25% allowing more teams to field good clubs.

If the problem is more access to the top of the game, then double the national pro tier (Canada, USA, Latin America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, North Africa, Sub Equatorial Africa, Middle East, Asia, India, China, Southeast Asia, Japan, Anzac, Oceania) and have a 5 day World Cup Tournament instead of a World League.

And, really, if you are going to do the latter then you definitely need to do the plateau extension as well I would say.

National Pro is a joke. Any team that fails to make playoffs (and some that slip in as 7 or 8 seeds) in National Pro right now, has no business being in National Pro.

Good teams can go through the season in National Pro and make the playoffs without changing their game plan all season, and will probably win over 1/2 their games by more than 40 pts.
