Got to thinking about it and you're right. I didn't start out as a good player. took my lumps and honed my skills in the military (Army & Navy) and, yes, I lost at least as much as I won back then. I was separating 'casino table playing for $' for casual playing with friends as well. Casual stakes rarely get above a buck ante. At the casino tables it's usually between 25$ and 500$ ante's depending on the table stakes I'm sitting at and the grub stake I'm bringing. Yeah, I don't consider myself "pro" level, but I've played many a night (and often well into the mornings) at casinos around the US. Moreso 10 years ago when it was all the rage than I do now. But that's not because I've lost my love for Hold 'Em, moreso just don't have the time and/or energy to grind it out late night on work trips anymore. Used to be fun in my late 20's to early 30s to work during the day, stay up and play poker until 3am, then get back at work at 8am. Not so much in my 40s. Lol. I still like playing in Vegas as there are enough fish there on vacation to grind it out against, but the local casinos here in Phoenix are so overridden with grinders nowadays that it's almost a fool's errand to try.
Btw wasn't commenting to call you out, just teasing. Most good poker players have sharp minds that can remember a hand progression from years earlier, but somehow can't quite seem to remember all their losses along the way. Lol.
