Week 7 Main Event: Paris vs HRT - last season, Paris won early in the season 7-6 then HRT won late in the season 13-10. Paris has been wanting to get more recognition but hasn't been able to beat any of the top 5 teams (even fading Jericho although Paris may be able to beat Jericho next time they play them). This game will probably establish who is the presumptive #6 if I was to rank 6 teams. It'll be close but since HRT won the last matchup I'll go with them.

Ok Paris if you beat ATKM next game like I expect you to then you still will not have beaten any of the top 5 but you will have beaten everyone else so after you beat ATKM I'll put you at #6 on my rankings! One more game to get there! And I think you have a chance to beat/pass Jericho in your rematch with them.

Rankings after Game #9:

1) Contender: Great JPEGs. Beat Vienna (by 10 in tourney); Brazilian; Houston; Jericho (by 38 in tourney); Lost to: Vienna (by 1); Jericho

JPEGs has beaten both the teams it lost to by significantly larger margins in the tourney and has beaten all the other top teams, so at this point they seem like the best team in the league.

2) Hanging around as a top team (Minor League Glory Team): Vienna Ritterbrüder. Beat: Brazilian;; JPEGs (by 1); Lost to: JPEGs (by 10 in tourney)

Vienna is still showing a heckuva lot of fight and will no doubt be a top team for the rest of the season.

3) Contender: Brazilian Farmers. Beat Houston; Jericho; Lost to: Vienna; JPEGs

Although they made it clear they don't have any time for game planning, especially in the regular season, they might game plan in the tourney, so the most likely scenarios I see is either JPEGs vs Vienna or JPEGs vs Brazilian in the League finals.

4) Pretender: Houston Gamblers. Beat Jericho; Lost to: Brazilian; JPEGs

Winning games against the weaker opponents but not much of a challenge for the serious Contenders in Elite.

5) Fading Away: Jericho Walls (Declining Minor League Glory Team). Beat JPEGs; Lost to: Houston; Brazilian; JPEGs (in tourney)

Every game Jericho falls a bit further behind the better built teams. Although they had the surprising win against JPEGs, JPEGs turned around and crushed Jericho in the tourney, and Jericho is unlikely to beat any of the top teams going forward, and may even start to lose against lesser teams by the end of the season. They've already been passed by Houston. As the poet said, "How quickly did their glory fade! Oh the minor charge they made! All the good teams said fyb's."

Below the top 5 only Paris stands out as possibly being worthy of ranking at this point in the season, and only if they win their upcoming match against ATKM, but I'll keep my eye out in case more teams emerge. I will briefly comment on the remaining teams:

Other Alpha Conference teams:
ATKM - they don't gameplan and it's catching up to them; losing games to scrub teams this season
HRT - their defense is pretty good but their pass-first offense is not effective at this point in their builds; they are losing too often to lesser teams.
CCIA - dots mostly under lvl 64 without any advanced equip playing dots mostly above 64 with advanced equip
Barcelona - Lost to a non-Elite team (HPAS) by an 87 point margin in the tourney

Other Zeta Conference teams:
Paris - Lost to a non-Elite team (Hispania) in the tourney
Gridiron - JPEGs beat them by 104 points
DSWC - Jericho beat them by 79 points. Lost to a non-Elite team (HPAS) by 52 in the tourney.

So that's why I don't consider any of these remaining teams worthy of being ranked at this point. Hopefully some of them will do better going forward.

Week 10 Main Event: Vienna vs Houston - last season, Vienna met Houston in the tourney with Vienna winning 36-6. There's no reason to expect a much different result this season. Vienna has looked very strong and Houston has not matched up well against the top teams.

Week 10 Undercard: ATKM vs Paris - last season ATKM won 9-6 but Paris seems to be on a mission this season to show they've improved. Paris has beaten the other teams in the League outside the top 5 teams and ATKM. Really the only embarrassing game Paris has had is their loss to Hispania in the tourney. I'm giving Paris the edge but I'd feel a lot better about their consistency this season if they hadn't dropped that game to Hispania. At the same time it's only fair to point out that ATKM also has had only one embarrassing moment this season, which is their 1 point loss to Gridiron. If not for that game, ATKM would be in the same boat as Paris. So both teams have had one game where they've lost to a team they probably shouldn't have, but otherwise both teams have done well. Therefore I wouldn't be shocked if either team came out the winner.
