I have been here since about season 4 if I remember right and this game was WAY better back in that time period. To me 2 things killed this game. 1.) Greed, instead of focusing on GLB 1 they have been "working" on games like GLB 2 or Mighty Brawlers that no one seems to care about. 2.) The mods, While there have certainly been many good ones over the years there have been a LOT that were immature punks. They backed their friends in all conflicts right or wrong and used their power to turn the forums into a high school lunchroom full of clicks. I personally do not talk or post much so it never really mattered to me but if I had a nickel for every teammate I saw quit over silly mod shit then I would be rich.

Basically the handling of "coming out of beta" is what happened. Apparently TPTB here believe out of beta means the game remains static and nothing needs to be changed or updated, when in actuality a game of this nature being out of beta would mean there still should be updates, but likely far fewer and probably scheduled updates. Working on a few minor things and having 3 or 4 updates a year would at least make the user base feel better.
