I'm still going to keep building dots, because what else am I going to do with my flex? I tried the other games, and while MB held my interest the longest, neither one of them holds long-term appeal to me.

But I completely understand people not wanting to build because the site might shut down tomorrow, or next week, or next month. It's maddening that the game's creators and operators won't commit to a build cycle to spark participation, because this is negatively impacting my experience as a user and player.

More people building = more competition, more vibrancy, more voices, more fun. It also means more flex and more dollars.

I buy enough flex to keep building my younger dots as needed. I don't think the game is going anywhere as long as enough people keep doing this, but at the same time also understand this game is what it is and they are done making changes to it. Would I like some changes? Hell yeah, but at the same time I know they are NGTH so I deal with it. I have always liked the coordinating side much more than the building dot side which is why GLB2 is pretty much useless to me. It pretty much is just a dumbed down version and looks more geared for younger people that like all the bells & whistles. WGG definitely went a step backwards with that endeavor if they were trying to reach the same customer base that made GLB1 what it was initially and add more customers as well. Seems to me they listened to the wrong userbase some of which still post here and try to tell you how good GLB2 is. What a joke!!!

WGG make a niche game that was marketed to a niche market and then were surprised that it turned out to be a niche game with a niche market.

I waste money on worse things. I still get some enjoyment from GLB Classic.

I'll make an attempt to compare the business model of WG to the one of my profession. Warning, it sounds absurd.

Let's say the small machine shop I work for is struggling and is losing it's customer base. So we create a second Machine Shop and tell all of our customers they can start sending purchase orders to our other machine shop, which is in a new building with new machines, but is still being operated by the same employees who were overwhelmed into mistakes at the first shop. Customers still aren't happy, are still leaving, and now we have two empty machine shops, not to mention all the costs of the new building and machines that we spent hoping we could recoup.

Instead of making GLB2, they should have made a singleplayer version of GLB with real time play calling.

See: Soccer Manager for an example.

Not me. I absolutely hate the clunky shit graphics running around in GLB2.

I like the dots cuz you can see the minute details of whats going on in a game. See the seperation, see the jukes fire, etc etc

Not worth my money anymore (and I spent plenty!) Found another game where the Dev actually gives a frig and all - sorta like GLB in the hey-day before the fall orchestrated by CB/DB to implement his own "vision" putting in 1980 graphics and screwing over the real GLB game. Bort took a flier letting his forum troll take over....

...fuck that.
