I think the " old guard" is ruining the game. Let me explain...There are certain agents who helped build this game and make it awesome, but they basically mastered it. Why would someone new come in and start playing? If they do, they will have little success against the experienced players. IMO Agents should be ranked and leagues formed based on those rankings. Add in some marketing and rookie agent leagues (which Mith will somehow find a way to join) and you would bring in fresh blood who can eventually move up.

This game isn't as bad as others. At least here a new person can test the waters before swimming to the deep end. Other games I've played throws the noobs in head first with the sharks right off the bat.

Hmm. I took a quick look at all our games after preseason, including the scrimmages vs. WL teams for the Innsmouth SB Big Defense, with zero game planning, teams completed 54 of 122. That's a long way from 90%. Had I gone through and looked at completions for just a yard or two, the "success" rate would probably be less, and no doubt minus screens even lower. So, looks like you are wrong.

That's cute. It really is.

They have mastered it not because they built it, but because its 10 fucking season running of the same sim. They mastered every single different sim thrown at them. People that are good aren't ruining the game, the game was ruined when it just stopped changing.

Fair enough. I've learned a lot from agents such as yourself which has helped me level the playing field slightly and has made the game more enjoyable.

that's a fair statement to make if it was changing in search of perfection, but not if it was changing for the sake of changing imo

i think anyone at this point would prefer a sim that changes.... whether for better or worse, but something different

Not me. I was perfectly happy with a sim that didn't change, as I don't think that's the problem at all and the constant changes were pretty annoying. We've just been playing this game for too long against the same people.

Will read this thread again after consuming mass quantities of alcohol and purchasing a Hall of Fame flex package! Good game jamz!

I tend to agree with this. All the change for the sake of change got really annoying

Ideally you want a stable sim where a lot of different approaches are all viable.

That would require a DPC with less restrictions on it, new offense formations and double the plays in each formation, and maybe also some new SAs and VAs to allow greater build specialization. But that requires work and it seems that they are done doing anything of the sort with this game. It's unfortunate because the sim evolved into something really good and the rest of the improvements to the game are outside of the sim itself. I feel like GLB could have been so much bigger if the fixes had been done early instead of them relying on people to use greasemonkey. It sucks that it seems they've given up on this game despite having a user base where most have been here for half a decade or more.

You can't tell me that the user base wouldn't surge if people found out that the player builder was an actual feature in the game, builds could be made right away, that there were new SAs and VAs furthering specialization for most build archetypes, new offense formations and plays, and a more open DPC.

Heck, if they added 3-5 new formations this offseason, added 8 new plays to each formation and added just a simple voting system each offseason where fans vote out the 10 or so worst plays and vote in the 10 best new plays as proposed by users, like we used to, that would be enough to keep the offense evolving every season without radically altering the sim. Offense's right now have some variety, but not a lot and that is because the playbook is limited. There needs to be a greater selection and variety so that the various styles of offense you see in the real life game can be implemented here, in that way you can achieve the goal of having different approaches that are each viable.
