I agree, make them build blocking WR's if they want to run that scheme.

The majority of us do, very few use the TE and its not nearly as effective as a WR. Its also not hard to tag a WR@QB or a WR@TE, but DCs are lazy.

I drink every night. That's called adulthood.

Problem also is that some do use the TE as WR1 to get the occassional Big I sweep off and while not working all the time at high levels it does get you a couple big cheap scores. Problem is, any decent team switches up games when they use it or use a regular WR at WR1. So if you gameplan your D for a blocker at WR1 you can wind up getting screwed by a speedster being thrown in there instead. Can't check their depth chart before the game since teams can get by that with the tactics calendar.

This is why I think the simple solution is allowing DCs to tag the WR spots just like can be done with QBs, HBs, TEs, and FBs. That way if a blocker is in at WR1 or 2 or 3 or 4, whether it's blocking WR or a TE, DCs can make plays that account for it. OCs should win games off good game planning, not from exploiting a deficiency in the DAI.

#1 Fix the TE-AT-WR blocking exploit. basically what WL teams do is at WR1 they put a real WR as #1 on the depth chart, but put a blocking TE as #2 at that positions depth chart. Then they use 99/1 energy settings for the #1 guy (the WR) is default ALWAYS in for passing plays. Then on run plays, they have that WR from WR1 on a QB or TE custom slot and put him there. Since those custom slots populate before the WR slots, every time it forces the bTE to play on run plays at WR1. This is retarded, it goes against having WR slots (to have blocking WRs for run plays which is dumb) and is a clear anti-fun exploit.

Solution: Always choose WRs before any other positions (including custom QB/TE/HB/FB slots). This means WRs can't play those positions UNLESS they are only depth charted at those positions and not WR, which is perfectly reasonable.

#2 INTs at the highest level of the game are insane. Only 8 QB's in WL have more TDs than INTs. Either tune down INTs some, or add the risk from going aggressive on the CB tactics (make them jump routes and miss) please for the love of god.

These two changes would stabilize GLB as it continues riding......

Harry Caray drank in bars for 288 straight days in 1972. And I assume some of those were Monday's.

It's not an exploit if it can be stopped. My DAI has had a WR at QB tag for seasons now. If a WR comes in at QB then the defense can sell out to stop the run.

They shouldn't make changes to the game just because coordinators are lazy.

MY TURN, MY TURN,...!!!!!!
http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2577383&pbp_id=4217591
grrr....f'n GLB no block reading run logic bs...

I just can't burn up the dam flex fast enough sometimes.

I think Bort had visions of a Farmville/Angry Birds type success peddling to the simple and got overrun by us football/strategy goons looking for that strategy based(no hand/eye coordination required) football simulation of our dreams.
I never have heard a statement of "vision" for GLB. I remember something on the homepage early on to the effect of... "...working every day to make a better game....", and, other than that it's mostly been whacking moles, greasing squeaky wheels, etc. What major changes were implemented were not done as steps towards goals. just... additions.......
I've only had hopes and guesses as to what Bort intended this to become.
