Several questions here as I am trying to get a better grasp on the WR possibilities:

Speedster archtype: (these questions are based on the speedster archtype)

1) Has anyone had success with an agility based WR? 110 or 120+ agility
2) Is it ever worth it to take catching first and agility 2nd and speed 3rd?
3) What about catching first, speed 2nd, and agility 3rd?
4) Is the traditional speed, agility, catching, vision the best method?

Agility based WR's don't generally make any sense because once you start putting equipment in Agility you are taking away from speed. 110 agility means you are probably at best looking at 140ish speed. The only way that would be worthwhile over 160/90 is if you were trying to make use of spins.

As far as what plan to go with it depends on what you are thinking about taking higher naturally and working from there. The general Multi train I work with is Speed/Catching/Agility/Carrying.

I know you need high stamina to go with 160 speed so here are my questions based on that:

1) Do you ignore strength?
2) How high of jumping is considered decent?
3) How high of vision do you really need?

1) Was obv old-school, but with a ~110/110 spd/agi split, he was the best WR on the Hedgehogs for a long time, despite being underleveled by a season almost his whole career. http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=349269&playoffs=0 Imo a split with good catching/juming a good fakes could work.

2/3) To say something is "never" worth it, would be a bold and likely misguided statement

4) Vision > jumping is traditional?

===

To the OP, you need to keep in mind that the WR accepted meta has been challenged far less than any other meta. The people who challenge it tend to be bad dot builders in general, and owners tend to be less willing to try different builds on their high level teams creating deaths to free agency.

There have been numerous reports of possession WRs being very successful over the years, but it never became more than a rare blip when a great dotbuilder went against the grain. Fake WRs were considered trash for a few seasons before people discoered how OP catch fake was. With avoidfake% coming up the chain on CBs and likely bringing fake WRs back in line, there will be an opening to try new things.

So you're saying it depends on the sim?

No way

It indeed depends on the sim, but what I'm also saying is the DE meta (for instance) is far less strict and far more tested than the WR meta, which 99% of peeps take as gospel and don't challenge.

idk what game you are playing but the last few seasons way more wr builds have been accepted than normal

This shouldn't be news to you since iirc you wanted to try 160 catch type wrs a long while back

OC trumps all

If you have an unusual build for WR, it could be very effective, but it won't do a thing with an OC that isn't willing to try to use it.

Actually the OC barely matters since you can't force the ball to certain receivers (aside from WR screens or only using 1-2 guys in a progression). Bort's target code is what determines whether or not a build is viable. High catching works, pure speed works, and fake builds work. Right now break tackle builds do not, and I can't imagine what 100+ agility would be intended to do since WRs already cut on a dime with 90.

I think the OC makes more of a difference than you're saying, but don't wanna get bolick'd ... so you can be right.
