Start of the playoffs. Plus, the player I created was not really out of sync since the leagues were lvl based. Also, the offseason/preseason wasn't nearly as long back then.

Ugh those early season prima donna's were the worst. You needed the money for everyone's equipment upgrades, you needed to provide them with a starting position. Equal snaps didn't matter. If they weren't the starter on the home page it was a no go. Many people didn't realize WR3 was the best WR position so they bitched if they weren't one or two on the chart.

Was a two way street as far as equipment.

Agents would lie like a dog about how much money they were hoarding. I always got a kick out of the dicks that didn't know I could keep track of how much equipment money they had been given. When I would call them on it they would tell me I was full of shit. I would then screenshot the EF page and show them where their dot had received equipment money already. Lying pricks.

Owners would offer to pay for equipment when recruiting your dot. Once you signed they would then inform you that you need to sign a new 3 season contract or you wouldn't receive a penny from the equipment fund.

lol @ the people that think this shit should be brought back.

pretty understandable for most teams when we got to the level 64 equipment. Unless you were around to completely game the trading system early on, paying for that equipment left you nearly close to bankrupt. Not something you want to sell out for a 1 year deal.
