You two get together and merge this idea. I was about to just figure another way of dealing with tagging; I was going to ignore it.......
Instead of the scout assignment dropdown of general types, the dropdown should be a list of my allowed players to assign matchup. And I should be able to assign a few backups. Like the coverage assignments Just sayin.....
Defaults should be reasonable regardless,
Get some programmers off the street for all this more generic database/interface stuff and don't let anything pull you away from the sim engine Bort...... they should work for basic shelter and futures by now.....

It would be nice to have a "Tag All Selected" option with a drop down menu of all relevant tags, and Boolean/check box next to each player (so you can select the ones you want), that way it could be opened up to all positions not just WR/Oline (some people may have very basic tags and just want to tag all HB's as rushers etc).

or just have OL default to blocker tag and WRs default to receiver tag, and then allow DCs to change those defaults individually

I can't help but see some exploit builds coming with a blocking WR being first on my list....
Your fix would do a world of good for a few seasons while a more comprehensive solution is found.
A receiving OT would be neat too......

That is why DC would have the option to change the setting. If a team had 1 or 2 players that needed the change then fine. If a team tried it with a bunch of players, then they would suck anyway, and you would still only have to change the tags for 1 team, not everyone.

I accidentally made the same suggestion before I found this thread buried on page 2.

I see Several options to achieve this...

1. Set default tags for all WRs to receiver and all Linemen to blocker.

2. Add a "Tag All" button at the top of the WR and O Line groups. If a team has a blocking WR, it would be simple enough to change the tag for an individual.

3. Put check boxes next to all offensive players and have a bulk tag option at the top of the page. You check the boxes next to all players you want to give the same tag, and at the top of the page, you scroll through the drop down box to select the correct tag, and then click on the Bulk Tag button. This option provides the most flexibility....you could check the boxes for receiving backs and TEs along with WRs to tag them all at once. The same goes for blockers.
