Quantity vs Quality? Lets see where aggy is about 9 months with all those three stars and without Derrick Griffin (oh wait he might qualify since you guys switched to the SEC).

Hey, it's been 9 months! Let's see where we stand:

Rivals: Ags 7, sips 12
24/7: Ags 7, sips 11

And this is before the bump we will get from Justin Manning committing today, and the likely commitment of your spurned commit RSJ on Monday.

I hate ND, but I have to root for them over the Saban cheaters. At least ND graduates their players unlike some notable conference.

Geez, couldn't wait one year and have already adopted the SEC unethical culture. I only found 3 JC's there. What 3 kids are going to be asked at the 11th hour to take a gray shirt or the ole, "Sorry, we don't have room for you, can you just walk on?" And that's assuming they stop taking kids right now. Pathetic. Losing respect for those Aggies...

A recruit who signs and is included in the school's counter limits for the current academic year, that recruit is not subject to the 25-member signing limit. Basically, it means the school can count that recruit to the previous class rather than the upcoming class, because he enrolled in school for the current academic year.

In the 2013 recruiting class, any recruit that is a mid-year enrollee who begins taking classes in January (which is the 2012-13 academic year), can count toward the 2012 recruiting class.

We signed 19 players to letters of intent in February 2012 but had four early enrollees in the class, three of which can be counted back to 2011, when we signed 22 players.

Taking that into consideration, that leaves spots for up to nine mid-term enrollees in the current recruiting class, meaning we conceivably could take 34 signees.

Taking it a step further, we had five early enrollees in the 2011 class. One of those could be counted back toward 2010, leaving room for one more spot in the 2011 class that the fourth 2012 early enrollee could fit in and give us a possibility of taking 35 signees in the class.

Currently, we have seven players committed that are expected to be early enrollees: Reggie Chevis, Cameron Clear, Kenny Flowers, Jordan Points, Alex Sezer, Jeremiah Stuckey and Brett Wade.

We have 17 scholarship seniors who will be out of eligibility after this season, meaning 57 scholarship players would remain. There's also the potential that Joeckel, Matthews, and Damontre Moore could declare early for the NFL, which could leave us with 54 scholarship players -- 31 under the 85-scholarship limit.

There is your lesson in how early enrollment can affect the number of players you can take in a class.

So basically the SEC doesn't follow 25 with +3 over signing format that the B12, B1G, and P12 (not sure about the ACC, but I believe they do as well). The +3 gives wiggle room for what you wrote a dissertation on. Another wards, what you just wrote is a big pile of horsebleep. I wish we could just shovel 7 enrollees into a previous class and hope nobody notices. The good news is, you are only 4 away from Petrino's super class a few years ago.

Does A&M only offer 1 year schollies like LSU, Alabama, Georgia, and Arkansas does? Then earn it on the field...errrrr excuse me, I meant to say earn it the classrooms to retain it?

Apparently Slive is still powerless to stop the slimeballs of the SEC.

Should we not be able to fill our roster due to attrition? It is a slimeball tactic if we start trapdooring kids like the sips and LSU do. We are going to lose kids to transfering because they see the recruits coming in an emerging this season. I wouldn't be shocked if Jameil Showers transfers because he knows he is not going to wrestle the starting QB job from Johnny now. With the WR and RB depth we will have, some of the lesser used skill position players may transfer as well. It is only oversigning if you are offering more scholarships than you have available. That is not the case with our class.

If you are losing players to attrition, then you have bigger problems. I believe there are very serious repercussions to teams interfering with other schools student athletes. QB's get a pass because they leave all the time if they don't start. Everybody else though? Schools typically offer walk-ons (who earn it) if it exceeds the 25+3 rule. Does A&M have no walk ons then?

Players may see that we have 4 and 5 star talent coming in behind them and realize they may not get playing time, thus their desire to transfer. It happens when you start stockpiling talent like we are. Got Ricky Seals-Jones on Monday (#1 WR in state for 2013) and Hoza Scott gave us the verbal today (#1 LB in state for 2014.) Reuben Foster (#1 player in country for 2013) has decommitted from Auburn and is going the take an official in College Station. Meanwhile the sips lost another commit this week, and their week just got worse because our OC Kliff Kinsgbury just took over at Tech, so the sips might drop lower in the state pecking order
