Sure I took advantage of the lower tier teams not being able to stop a rushing QB, but still. IF we can get something going offensively seems a bit harsh to me. I would argue that IF we can stop anyone, we'll have a good season. Amongst teams returning to Elite #1, I believe only Hawaii and Philly gave up more points per game than I did last season. That will be the key to Rome's success. Speaking of which, does anyone have a run stuffing DE?

I don't think it's anything against Rome, per se. I think it's geared toward the rushing QB teams. There are 3-4 top teams who have figured out how to shut down the QB run. That being said, there are 3-4 top 10 teams who still can't completely stop it.
I think teams should be more fearful of the ST units that are dominating league play now. I know we have taken a few extra dots, who are going to be made STers, just to try to be able to play with ECT and MNTF. I think DJL feels my pain.

The season before I created the players on ECT I got my ass handed to me by a ST powerhouse. That's when I decided to make some dedicated STOP's for ECT. So far it seems to have paid off.

I really have to hand it to Davis. When the multiple QB spies came out everyone thought rushing QB's would be dead. They are still very hard to stop. And he has found a way to make them work. Plus Rome did very well against ECT last season.

I was always confused why more offenses didn't go extreme like I did. You generally build defenses to stop both the run and the pass. Therefore, my thought was why not build a team that was 100% 1 dimensional. This way half of the defense on the opposing team would be built for the wrong style. I don't think that any CB in this league can hang with my blocking WRs. I mean they've got 90 speed and 90 strength with blocking? Maybe the corner can get around that untouched, but more than likely his ass just got pancaked and with a few more VAs including showboat blocker, I would expect a morale spiral. Now, it can be stopped obviously. Ask MNTF how many points we scored on them.

As far as that ECT game, I was pissed when I watched the replay and this play happened: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1761577&pbp_id=9487274. It's not like I expected my QB to make that pass, but as long as Dezerious doesn't return that punt (50/50), I'm going into half time with a 17-6 lead...

"with all due respect" I Disagree 100%, with or with out spies stopping a team that features a QB run offense is pretty easy and has been done in regular play and casual play for years. as a DC I have zero fear in facing a QB running team,

I am way more afraid of a team with a kick ass return unit. when it comes to stopping a kick or put return all you can do is throw 11 guys out there and hope that the sim rolls your way, other the line up your guys on the field you and pretty much helpless after the ball is kicked in to the air

But Mr Fork I see that Rome beat LA in a scim. To me that's not stopping a rushing QB team. You have your opinion and I have mine. I just remember Aaron Rodgers folding his rushing QB team when the change happened.

I disagree, but just my .02..about the STs...I can stop rush QBs without spies...but for seasons now, I ve dedicated myself personally to STs and I think it has paid off in HUGE returns..no pun intended....

1. MUSTANG NATION "Touchy Fillies"- Last time somebody beat them in the play-offs was 4 seasons ago in the Rookies. That team was the Green Bay Wolverines who are now in competitive #2, so that means no elite team has ever beaten MNTF in the play-offs! They have beaten over the last 3 seasons: Hawaii, Darkness, NHG, ECT, ReDistured, Detroit Destroyers, Phiadelphia, RMO...now thats impressive! Could they make it 4 in a row? Maybe Motor City will get their first chance to stop MUSTANG!

2. ECT- 19-1 in your first season in elite#1 is very impressive, not sure what happened in the championship game though! I expect them to do well again with their ST's firing on all cylinders and alsi their very strong defence. If they can do well on offense then I think they will be favourites. They also won the tourney last season!!

3. Nerd Herd Gators- I'm trying to do these rankings without looking at Davis ones but i think this is the same so far, which is not good! but NHG are always up there and with 4ork joining and adding to their trash talkin abilities they should be better than ever before. They did well last season only losing to MNTF in the 3rd round. I think it's time for them to win a league trophy to add to their tourney trophies!

4. Red Dirt Wranglers- Now I've heard rumours that this team has made some good improvements since last season! RDW did well in their first season in elite#1 going 11-5 in a stacked conference. They came very close to beating a lot of the best teams and beat Darkness and MNTF in the regular season. With a few improvements to their roster this season they should be right up there with the best!

5. ReDisturbed- I always seem to rate ReDisturbed to low but I wanted my rankings to be a little different, sorry akinghorn! Very solid team, who are always in with a chance of winning. They've been very close to winning GOLD before, losing to MNTF in the finals 2 seasons ago and also losing in round 3 to NJN when they looked favourites to win it all. Both of those losses were to a late ST TD, if they could get a bit more luck in the play-offs this year then I think they're in with a shout at GOLD.

6. Motor City Cats- Now I look at their record last season, it was quite impressive, they only lost to ECT and LA all season. And they nearly beat LA in the 2nd round, only losing 21-24. They aren't far away from the top teams, despite a lot of modesty amongst the MCC agents, I believe they should be in the top10! They aren't fooling me!

7. Rocky Muntain Outlaws- This is a little low for a 14-2 team but they have never made it past the 2nd round in the play-offs and lost in the first round last season to Rome. But they did do very well in the regular season beating teams like ReDisturbed and NHG, they just don't seem to be able to replicate that form in the play-offs. maybe they will be able to this season but they are in a very tough conference!

8. Rome Regenades- They've brought in 8 new players this season and I think they will have a good season if they can get something going on offense. They did well to finish 2nd in the tourney and they lost to NHG in the 2nd round, but Davis has already admitted they will never beat NHG! They are in the slightly easier conference by the looks of things, which could mean they will be 3rd or 4th seed.

9. Dark Nightmare- *evil laugh* I think the merge has worked well, we got the players we wanted and the roster looks good. Hopefully we can get some easier games early on while our chemistry is low, however we will probably get MUSTANG and ECT in week 1 and 2. We will see how it works out!

10. Manhattan Midnight Warriors- welcome back MCC. They went 19-1 last season and their only loss was by 1 point! Although that was a much weaker league they have a decent roster although their eff lvl is very low! it's hard to tell how they will do back in this league but I think they will do alright!

Mr 4ork had nothing to do with that Scrim and the record setting 17 points scored by rome

no HOOD love finally got 55 dots, if iosif finds the time to do some stuff we should be playoff material. Although I have never played good against any of the elite teams, but that of course was with me setting tactics, which is lol

Biggest Week 1 Games:

RMO V DN - RMO only lost 2 games last regular season and will be a tough test for the new merge side.

ReDisturbed V ECT- The 2 highest eff lvl teams are drawn against each other in week 1, should be close.

NHG V RDW- The newly imporved RDW against NHG who are always near the top. We'll see how much better RDW really are this season.
