I am disappointed that catch & Bort always listen to him

lol this had nothing to do with jdbolick - I can assure you of that. We had discussed limited DPC to see if it would resolve our issues, so it wasn't that big a shift in our thinking. There's a reason we have discussion threads after we announce things.

Everybody has wanted CPU teams to be gone, at least I think they have, the agents love them because then they can get 50+ sacks per season. But if there were no CPU teams, I bet that the sack leader would be around 20 sacks in a season, which isn't far off.

There are a ton of things they could do to improve this game and they don't do it. I'm glad that they decided to not completely remove the DPC without trying something else first. But there are a ton of other problems far worse than that.

Not true.

Thanks Bort and Catch for actually trying it our way before you took it away completely.

Serious question...

Limit the defensive line to predetermined shifts:
a.) Shift Left
b.) Shift Right
c.) Bunch Middle
d.) Balanced Line

Then with the predetermined shift - you should be able to move the DE to an inside our outside technique... Only the DE on the outside of the line should be able to move. Fix the DT/NT spacing.

Then with the LB... They should be able to move freely left to right (even more than they can now)... But only allow a maximum of 6 total blitzers. And I would consider only allowing 1 LB on the LoS.

If you do these type of limitations... Wouldn't it resolve a ton of the blocking logic issues?

LB free movement causes as many or more issues then DL free movement.

What we've been talking about is this:

3 alignments for the DL: Strong/Middle/Weak
9 possible alignments for the LB'ers: Strong/Middle/Weak + Shallow/Medium/Deep
Secondary: Dragable box smaller but have presets that go in logical spots that are outside of the box

Its been a long time since I was an active DC. I "retired", in part, because of how long it took to gameplan and set up a successful defense, which the DPC was to blame.

BUT

http://goallineblitz.com/game/team_stats.pl?league_id=11&conference_id=0&stat=other&sort=points_scored/games&playoffs=0

Eastern Europe Pro Team Leaders

There are 26 teams averaging over 30 points per game. Realistic? No. Offenses being ridiculously overpowered despite weaknesses in the DPC. YES!!!!

I don't know how further limiting the DPC will somehow make defenses better.

Can I please see examples of exploited blitzes? I just don't get what the fuss is about. I am sure a lot of investors on this site don't either.

Seriously?

In games that are competitive and that he loses, he just is average.

After discussion today, we've decided to give limited player movement within the DPC a chance before considering completely removing the DPC.

This is very good news because we love DPC just need to make it reasonable to avoid exploiting.

Thanks

Can we choose gaps to blitz?

imo, LB's should be allowed to move like secondaries if they're assignment precludes blitzing.

Also, Secondaries should be limited similarly to linebackers if their assignment is or allows blitzing.

how about give advice on how to counter these blitzes?

Are they impossible to counter or something?

I didn't realize I, or the countless others who complained, are this jdbollick you are referring to. TBH I don't even know who he is. Yet somehow, I still disagree with removing the DPC. Seems to me you're simply using this thread to voice your disdain for jdbollick. Go away.

I would hope you're not solely balancing this game around the cyber celebs and World League mafias, because they are a ridiculously low percentage and voice of Goal Line Blitz.

It's always been this way, it's also called nerfing. Plus, most of them are Mods and still live with their parents, of course they get what they want.

So this means teams with better built players win, game planning is pretty much useless (like the financial system ). Why can't you fix the pathing or coding, seriously, GLB is turning into a game for children.

There are plenty of them posted in various bug threads, and they are typically different season to season. It's like a mad game of whack-a-mole. Limitations on the movement was what was expected in the first place so that is a good call, although it will probably just end up opening new holes.

I would think about going back to last seasons blocking code would be better and work from that.
