Does the backfield tackling bonus with Power Tackler work when you are playing with wrap-up tackling?

So in casual leagues is the defensive formation based on solely what type of pass defense % your running (short/medium/long) besides obvious factors like goal line situations what other factors decide what formation is run?

Is this still going on?

If so, what is the difference between catch ball % and intercept %? We know that it affects different parts of the roll for CBs, but any more information would be nice since what they affect is pretty vague.

I'm mostly interested in seeing fairly realistic interactions between players on the field. In any sports video game, scores and stats are always going to be higher than in real life, since it's impossible to fully imitate the real world, and people will find the easier routes to win. As long as the plays and interactions seem within reason, the stats should be within reason as well.

alright that sounds reasonable as long as Bort and Co. keep working on it until we see perfection (or at least out do madden )

1. What are the in game differences between Catch ball% & Interception%?

Catch ball is going to help you catch tipped/missed catches better. Intercept is going to help you catch passes where you're the man in the middle better.

Was answerd in the Q&A thing b4 this started.

Ok, now I get what you're looking for: What does long pass defense call, what does medium call, etc?

Maybe we can put together a FAQ, but in the mean time, the general rule is:

Long pass = cover 3
Med pass = cover 2
Short pass = cover 1

However, the play calling AI does make different calls in different situations. For obvious rushing situations, it's going to call more cover 1, for obvious deep pass situations, it's going to call more cover 2/3.

Ok, that's what I've figured. But, I also know there is some sort of "auto" adjust in the Basic sim, meaning the play calls are adjusted outside of pre-set team tactics no matter if its 100% set 1 way on O or D with auto adjust at 0.

What i don't understand on defense specifically is where these specific D formations are coming from when stopping the run for example.

I could link some examples of a ROLB actually lined up on WR #2 in man coverage while the CB #2 is in zone....What is that one? What does it look like on a playbook? I'm asking if we can we see these D plays, and what triggers the D Ai to call alot of these so randomly?

I've nailed the O tactics pretty good, and outside of a few head scratchers in the O play calling basic ai, there is ALOT more control in that casual game plan then people think when running a Casual Offense.....

Not so much on D though at all.....

Thanks.

No - Power tackling never works in any aspect when on wrap up.

Has there been any thought given to starting non-boost leagues?

I know that there are several underground league's that do this but i feel it would be better if there was a official non boost league.

From a business perspective, that's not a realistic addition to the game. If you create non-boosting leagues, then everyone would play those instead of the boosting leagues.

It's based on your percentages and the down/distance.

...and will this move help improve the game overall/correct that issue or will it just further add to the underlying factors which resulted in the decrease in demand and reduced users numbers/player creation.

There's less active customers than when the site first started, which is natural for any game, and not unexpected. However, team demand seems to actually be pretty steady for the last 4 or 5 seasons, though. Just not what it was at launch (which made us do the wait list).

I think if people want to own another team and try to run it, they can go for it. It can only help keep leagues more active, tbh. Less CPU teams at the end of the season = less early promotions, etc.

Already answered - from a business perspective, non boosting leagues are not a viable option.

How has this game changed your lives? Remember you was a man with an Idea, has it changed your life drastically or is your life styles still the same as when this was just an Idea?

HEY!

What's the big problem with speeding up player development?

When are Iron Man Leagues coming?

Same time as we can get AngryDragon's new defensive plays (which I'd love to add, btw). When somebody gets around to making and testing them. Defensive plays could theoretically be submitted by users and testers, actually. Just would need a play built on the test server and an id to copy over.

I would do this, we have plenty of people capable of submitting plays actually based more on the current sim.
