I hear you DTD, but when you get right down to it there will always be 'uncompetitive' teams in Gold. Whether it is absolute or relative, for every 16-0 SBWL team you will have a 0-16 Tedd's team. It's unrealistic to think Gold will get to a point where every single team is super competitive and strong where you have the top team sitting at 9-7 and the bottom team at 7-9, with playoff spots decided in week 16.
Someone has to play the role of dot-fodder for the good teams in Gold but we can't say that is Hartford's destiny until they are given the chance. We've seen a lot of good teams that falter in Gold just as we've seen teams with low expectations do very well.
I think we're ultimately talking about the same thing here we are just opting to phrase it differently and emphasize different aspects. As the thread is titled "Good Luck to the Hartford Shocks."
