A semi-interesting thread is going on over in the main forum:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=3668519

I'm undecided about this stuff, but I think that the defense should get an additional % box--"Defend against QB rollout".

Obviously, setting your team to defend 100% against the pass doesn't mean you stop every passer, so setting 100% against QBs wouldn't be the end of rushing QBs.

Anyone with thoughts?

Right now it looks preety exploitable, i tried a Defence in a 22 CAP scrimmage game against a rushing QB and we were owned.

I'm not sure that in uncapped rushing QB's would work so well with all the VA's and 70+ visions everywhere, it hasn't been done at this level. Sure the QB will be faster at that point too but it may not make up for a very well designed "swarming" defence!

Avenger hits the nail on the head.....After say cap 26 or 30 it's pretty easy to stop....My QB wasnt a world beater and he was a dual threat w/ decent passing stats so teams couldnt even do an all out run outside stop on him.

Capped rushing QB's need to be banned or the Defense setting need to allow us to spy or counter the rushing QB. Sorry anyone with a Rushing QB is just exploiting an obvious issue.

They should be banned until the tagging is available in casual.

When I was creating players for a slow build casual team, I made a rushing QB because the season before a rushing QB on another had almost single-handedly won a casual league the season before. The team itself was good, but not any better than the other top teams of the league. That QB was the difference maker...thing is, they didn't barely beat the competition...they destroyed them. I ended up retiring him because it's just not fun for the other offensive players on the team.

Defending a rushing QB requires scouting and managing your defensive tactics. It's completely manageable...with access to defensive tactics. In a casual league where that ability is extremely limited, rushing QB's are an unfair advantage over evenly matched teams without one.

Doesn't that start to slowly remove the skin of "casual?" I like it how it is - set basic tactics and let them play. If I have to start tagging then the domino effect will begin "hey, let us set up a two minute offense" etc.

This is more along the lines of what I was thinking. I should have chosen a slightly more nuanced title line. I'd like to see 1-2 more sliders on defense as it is, and I think that one option would be to focus on the QB. Tagging would be going a bit too far.

Sounds like a bunch of whining (whine and complain until what your bad builds can't stop get nerfed).

Can Stan Ridgway call audibles and torch you with his passing ability?

I'd rather see the ability to set some sort of percentage to go for it on 4th and short (2 yards or less). Just a "Go for it XX%" or "Go for it inside 2 minutes left in the game" or something of that nature.

Bad example. Ridgeway's team outleveled 90% of the conference by at least 15 levels. We'll see how he does against levels 34-38 next season instead of levels 10-12.
