Are you holding onto SP?? IMO I see attributes way too high, others way too low. 8 Jumping? Good luck with that.

I've always sort of did cap building before I knew that's what it's called. I really don't see much advantage doing anything else.

I just think it's funny how my build goes against everybody here and he's #1 TE in 2 different leagues the last 2 seasons. And everybody keeps talking about how they're gonna pour it on later. And some give advice on receiving TE's who are high level with 150 yards for the season.

I did get some great AEQ advice on here, but I think the build advice isn't so great.

I'll check back in when my TE is level 50 and apparently worthless. Right.

Jumping gets 0 natural level gains for a TE. Any good slowbuilding technique will ignore an attribute that gets no natural level gains for as long as possible in order to maximize the gains in other attributes.

Also, one TE in the casual leagues and another in 34 minors is nothing to really brag about. Once your TE is in a real league and starts putting up the numbers, then you can come back and brag.

tbh I got some nice stats the previous two seasons for the very same reasons you're getting nice stats this season - situation. being the best team in your league and generally outleveling your competition, that's one way to go about it. the way I went about it was being grossly underleveled and getting thrown to a shit ton of times. you're right, your build remains closed, so no one but you really has any ways to compare. but the very way in which you're speaking about my attributes suggests that you didn't put enough maths into your own TE, and will end up way, way behind. sorry if I seem a bit forward, I just call it like I see it and you're not going to be worthless, just mediocre, as I said

Yes... we're going to go ahead and waste points in jumping when there are other positions of need that get free points from level gains. YES!

This guy essentially sucks right now but hopefully by lvl 40 he'll have his speed/agility up to par so he can run over some fuckers.

not a great build but he has been effective. Currently has endorsement
+1 blk
+2 catch
+1 strength
+1 run block
+1 sticky hands

I would build completely different if I were to start a new one though.

I would just like to see a build comparison of what difference slowbuilding your level gain attributes makes. I've asked in the forums in the past, but I've seen 0 data on the subject. I messed with the virtual build program and the difference was minimal versus cap building. And I have a solid player throughout his career. There is a study/discussion on various slowbuilding techniques in the wiki.

My casual league TE is a joke. I make no claims on that build being of much value, but I used it to learn.

BTW, my stud TE tore it up on a different team last season too. And it was just an above average team. I'll be sure to check in when we're in uncapped next season.

I think your TE can be productive late into the build so long as his OC takes advantage of what he brings to the table. Much of the feedback you received in this thread was in regard to your (paraphrased) "show me some stats" remark--folks have simply pointed out that some build for immediate stats, some attempt builds that they believe will bring stats at a higher level of play, and there's plenty of builds that are compromises of the two.

Alright. This my idea

Intense train speed/agilty

cap them both at 68

While training Srength/carrying

Cap strength to 48

Train Vision/catching

Cap catching

Put all Eq into speed

then once i get double cap Strength ill go back a
and cap Vision/carrying
While trainng blocking/jumping on normal

You're beginning by training two attributes that aren't majors. I'm not saying you "can't get there from here", but you're certainly taking the long way around the block.

I guess it all comes down to what you want your build to highlight.

My final build goals are 120+ speed, 80 agility. Instead of getting so much catching, I build up jumping and catching va's. Now I'm aiming for the -20% vision hit va's. With boatloads of RR and maybe FS, my goal is to run by LB's.

No doubt you need an OC who can feature you somewhat.

My other TE tried to be a tackle breaking hybrid. Just didn't get open enough or scare anybody. He did average almost 800 yards a season on some decent teams, but nothing special.
