In answer to Darkus's question (I got side tracked on the coaching stuff)... the league is great and will only get better. Their will always be a couple of teams in here that shouldn't be (for what ever reason, slow building, not trying anymore etc).
By and large the games are very tough and require a lot of work. So we got exactly what we wanted! ....now change it back!!!! j/k.

I think the great thing about Gold is that even when you play a 3-8 team, you still have to do your homework, because those teams would be a top 1 or 2 in a lot of silver leagues and can still pull of an upset.

I think this is great though. If Gold gets too much people can drop back to Silver and not have it too rough. The purpose of the gold league is to have teams that have gold trophies. Over time the Gold league will become really tough and the silver leagues will get better as it all settles down.

Some people are missing the point of the Gold league. It is not a place for the 'good' teams. It is a place for the 'best' teams. If you are unable to win a Silver league then you are not good enough to compete in the Gold league. Second place is not good enough, that means there was a team that beat you that is better than you. If there are four good teams in one league then it will take a little longer for them to get there, but if they are good enough then they will win their silver league, get a gold trophy and move up.

but some silver leagues have no 'elite' teams that are worthy of Gold status imo ...some teams that are less deserving will gain a trophy and entry to the gold league when it shouldn't be possible ...why have teams in the gold league that would rarely win a game?!? ...the difference in gold teams and quality gold teams will remain to be enormous ...it is funny that these less deserving teams would have bragging rights and huge egos coming into the gold league and then realise how ill equipped they are to take on the best ...so the 'best' as you put it isn't what the gold league are gonna get with the current format as it stands imo ...the way TT suggests, would guarantee that the best teams in silver will justifiably make it sooner rather than later, coz they have to take on the best in silver to get there and the equilibrium would be restored. You only have to look at how some teams in the silver league are faring in the tournaments to see that they are competitive with the gold league teams ...this isn't the case with teams from some silver leagues<.<
