I think demoting the two lowest teams from each region makes sense.

Plus it would make the USA Pro teams raaaaaaaaaage.

I read this as the two lolwest teams from each conference. I was wondering how the hell you think it would work to have only west teams demote. lolwest has gotten into my head.

This tbh.

Whatever it is that we think Bort has said he will do won't happen. It'll be something entirely different than that, the opposite approach or the one that he proclaims to be the final word between now and then.

dont forget the requisite decision made, followed by waffling, followed by a poll in which everybody from pee-wee on up gets to vote on what happens to the WL.

I also thought that the original plan was to demote 2 teams from each region each season. I'm not sure I like having all the non-playoff teams demote. I can see advantages either way, I guess.

But what if the only two teams from a region are playoff teams? Or conference champions? Or league champion + runner up?

The whole thing is a giant fucking mess, and will be a source of many lulz.

Demoting 2 teams from each region each season is much simpler in terms of relegation issues.
Demoting the 16 non-playoff teams each season makes for a more competitive World League.
That's what I see as the primary advantages on both sides.

very astute observations trev.

Personally, since I am not attached to any region or forum, I think non-playoff teams should just demote to a random region and after a few seasons, the talent in those pro regions would level out due to all those WL demotions.

Or maybe i just want to see the lulz of Drygeria in Africa Pro.

I wouldn't mind Marblehead getting demoted to like OPL and absolutely curbstomping everyone. Give me a season off of DCing and gets us another trophy.jpg

How many reps will this season's CPL have up there?

So all this palabra after my question results in a "Who the f*ck knows" is how I'm reading it.

Good.

Became a owner in Borts mid season project back in season 3, was out of town and didn't know I had a team for a few days and if anyone think recruiting is hard now just try fielding a team mid season. We were in the East and had some good rivals like QC or St. Johns but I would say Halifax was our biggest one but when we got promoted to AA we were flipped to the West. Now there is one team we just can't get over the hump vs and have never beat, KC Gorilla's seem to have our number big time and we hope to end that this season! We have never missed the playoff's and hope to continue this streak in CPL!

S3 [CAN A6]: 8-0, 1-1 (Eliminated in second round by the Jeff Garcia's De-funked Dallas Crime Boys)
S4 [CAN A6]:12-4, 1-1 (Eliminated in second round by Queen City Black Cats)
S5 [CAN A6]:12-4, 0-1 (Eliminated in first round by The Lone Star Caballeros)
S6 [CAN AA3]:15-1, 1-1 (Eliminated in second round by The Kansas City Gorillas)
S7 [CAN AAA2]:9-7, 0-1 (Eliminated in first round by The Saskatchewan Beavers)
S8 [CAN AAA2]:13-3, 1-1 (Eliminated in second round by The Kansas City Gorillas)
S9 [CAN AAA2]:13-3, 0-1 (Eliminated in first round by The Moncton Mosquitos)
S10 [CAN AAA2]:10-6, 0-1 (Eliminated in first round by The Oredon Octopi)
S11 [CAN AAA2]:14-2, 1-1 (Eliminated in second round by The Winnipeg Wrath)

Regular Season:106-30
Playoffs:5-9
Overall:111-39

BBB Records: BBB wasn't around back then
A Records:32-8, 2-3 playoffs
AA Records:15-1 1-1 playoffs
AAA Records:59-21 2-5 playoffs
Pro Records:1-0 (so far)
Titlesrobably the only high lev team with out a title of any kind, but its not for a lack of trying.
Other: Record vs Current CPL Teams, regular season and playoffs

Queen City Black Cats 1-3
Halifax Hashishim 3-1
Winnipeg Wrath 2-3
Brooklyn Boyz 1-1
Tadoussac Whalers 2-0
Kansas City Gorillas 0-6
Manitoba Aftershocks 0-1
St. John's Salty Dogs 2-1
Medicine Hat Witch Doctors 1-0

Played several other teams in scrims or tourneys over the seasons like Hillsburgh, Niagara, Memphis, Kingston, Hornepayne and last them dirty Bastards also. So a few teams are familur withh us.

The Polar Bears began in season 3 and officially were formed during the mid season expansion in Canada A. After an undefeated 8-0 regular season we marched through the playoffs until meeting who was then called the Ajax Odyssey (now known as Durham Ice Odyssey). The championship game ended in epic fashion with the Odyssey scoring a 35 yard TD with 1min 22 sec remaining. Due to the mid season expansion Bort decided not to promote any of the teams in Canada A so we returned for another two seasons until we won our first championship in season 5 and from there we continued to win.

Record By Season
S3 [Canada A] 8-0 (3-1) Conference Champion
S4 [Canada A] 12-4 (1-1)
S5 [Canada A] 14-2 (4-0) League Champion
S6 [Canada AA] 13-3 (1-1)
S7 [Canada AAA1] 8-8
S8 [Canada AAA1] 12-4 (0-1)
S9 [Canada AAA1] 15-1 (4-0) League Champion
S10 [Canada Pro] 2-14 (We didn't use a DC)
S11 [Canada AAA1] 15-1 (3-1) Conference Champion

Regular Season Record: 99-37
Playoff Record: 16-5
