Been in the fukking CPL East for 10 straight seasons.
This basic origin is the one most people are familiar with. While the individual details vary, certain key elements have remained consistent in almost all retellings.
The Bastard Sons of Doug Flutie were born with the name "Kal-El" on the alien planet Krypton. His parents, Doug and Lara Flutie become aware of Krypton's impending destruction and Doug Flutie begins constructing a spacecraft that would carry Kal-El to Earth. During Krypton's last moments, Doug Flutie places the young Kal-El in the spacecraft and launches it. Doug Flutie and Lara die as the spacecraft barely escapes Krypton's fate. The spacecraft lands in Canadian Pro League, where it is found by a passing motorist. A couple named the Kents adopt The Bastard Sons of Doug Flutie and name them "The Bestard Sons of Doug Flutie." As The Bestard Sons of Doug Flutie grow up on Earth, they and their adoptive parents discover that they have superhuman powers. The Kents teach The Bestard Sons of Doug Flutie to use these powers responsibly to help others and fight crime.
The Bestard Sons of Doug Flutie keeps their powers secret in order to protect their family and friends, who might be endangered by their criminal enemies. In order to use their powers to help humanity, The Bestard Sons of Doug Flutie creates the secret identity of The Bastard Sons of Doug Flutie. A number of elements are added to each identity to keep them distinct enough to prevent the casual observer from matching them. The Bastard Sons of Doug Flutie wear characteristic red and blue costumes with the letters "BSoDF" in an emblem and a cape. Oshawa (originally the Las Vegas Kings) was created as a farm team for a USA squad and then half-gutted and financially ruined before they even played a game. As a result it was a long road for those who remained to finally promote out of AAA. Ajax dominated from the get-go in A, winning consecutive league titles there, and continued to kick ass through season 7, when Ajax and Oshawa met for the AAA#1 championship, and Ajax prevailed. Oshawa adapted quicker to pro life, but by season 10 both teams were struggling with depth and GM availability. When beanerz solicited a merge after season 9, it was clearly the right thing for both teams involved. The extremely close real-life proximity of the two Canadian cities is purely a coincidence.

Hudson Bay started in the expansion Canada BBB leagues in season 5. Toneboogie was the original OC and GrandMasterC was the original DC. After 2 seasons Bluehaze took over the defense and GrandMasterC switched to offense. The original core group of agents have known each other for 6+ years and played together in other online games. We have added quality agents that we have met in this game. Our only losing season was season 6 when we made the jump from a capped league to an uncapped league. Instead of ditching our roster and recruiting a new one we decided to keep the players we had and take our lumps. Since that season we have made the playoffs every season.

At the end of Season 5 my GLB flame burned out. Ownership and perpetual mediocrity took its toll as did lack of GLB access at work. Luckily my DC and right hand man, epsilon95phi, had recently gained control of a folding Canada Pro team, OOTP Ballers. He gained ownership, and we airlifted 95% of Cowbells players to the newly rechristened team, the Manitoba Matadors. With my reduced responsibilities I was free to spend some more time during Season 6 overhauling our AI and the results definitely showed in seasons to come. The same players that struggled to advance out of USA A3 soon became a force to be reckoned with in Canada AAA, as various other pieces of the GLB puzzle began to fall into place for us.

A primary member of the "Buffalo Mafia" affiliation including the now folded Buffalo Rangers, SEA Pro Buffalo Rampage, and EEPro Buffalo Warzone. Another reason for our leapfrog in success from USA to Canada can be explained through our deeper association in that network of teams, and the excellent resource of GLB knowledge it provided.

Became a owner in Borts mid season project back in season 3, was out of town and didn't know I had a team for a few days and if anyone think recruiting is hard now just try fielding a team mid season. We were in the East and had some good rivals like QC or St. Johns but I would say Halifax was our biggest one but when we got promoted to AA we were flipped to the West. Now there is one team we just can't get over the hump vs and have never beat, KC Gorilla's seem to have our number big time and we hope to end that this season! We have never missed the playoff's and hope to continue this streak in CPL!

The Polar Bears began in season 3 and officially were formed during the mid season expansion in Canada A. After an undefeated 8-0 regular season we marched through the playoffs until meeting who was then called the Ajax Odyssey (now known as Durham Ice Odyssey). The championship game ended in epic fashion with the Odyssey scoring a 35 yard TD with 1min 22 sec remaining. Due to the mid season expansion Bort decided not to promote any of the teams in Canada A so we returned for another two seasons until we won our first championship in season 5 and from there we continued to win.

The Wildfire started as a season 6 expansion in Western Europe BBB#1, going 3-13. Things steadily improved as the team grew until season 8 where a 14-2 regular season ended in the 2nd round of the playoffs to the eventual conference champion. They would enter season 9 as the WE BBB#1 clear favorite...until The Reshuffle happened, putting them into WE BBB#2 with some tougher competition. A 13-3 regular season again ended with a 2nd round exit. Season 10 was then a shift off to the Uncapped Minors (#9 holla) and a 20-0 gold cup. At this point the team decided to re-enter the pyramid in the Canada region for better competition. The stay in AA was short, despite a 1st round playoff exit, as the team requested to promote to AAA #1 if possible, as the championship in AA was almost inevitable. With some guts/cpus still sitting in AAA #1, on the last day before schedules were generated, the Wildfire got the promotion. A rough start in season 12 of 1-6 was overcome with a huge finish, as the Wildfire went on to claim a playoff spot by losing only 1 of their final 9 games. They lost in the first round to the Renegade Nation, who went on to promote to CPL that year. Again finding themselves on the top of the heap, the Wildfire lived up to the pre-season expectation for season 13, going 19-1 and winning the conference championship to earn a spot in CPL.

Another team from the only mid-season team giveaway in season 3. Strom is one of the best recruiters out there and was able to get us a full team at the start of season 3 before our team even came out. This paved the way to two consecutive Eastern titles in Canada A2 where we lost to the Port Moody Megalodon both times. Since then we have never had a losing season but have missed the playoffs three times. We backed into promotion from AA1 to AAA1 by losing in the 2nd round of the playoffs after going 16-0. We finally won another trophy (albeit silver, again) by running through the S12 AAA1 Eastern playoffs as a 4 seed.
Our team is named for the Xavier Musketeers, which strom and I attended for undergrad. We took on an Inuit theme for our franchise with sister teams in Kangiqsualujjuaq and Ivujivik (not actually a place but a name). Our stadium's name is Amaamatisivik, which means the place where women breast-feed their babies and is actually the name of the area where Puvirnituq is located.

Tradewest has been one of the top competitors in their conference ever since the inception of the team despite league promotions. Been under the same ownership since day 1, and it has been a long road from the shortened Canada A season 3 to CPL. Been pretty much a 2-man organization between myself and skyrook52 until last season when Roctronic and FredL offered to help with AI.
Though the team has never captured any league titles, and only one conference title, we'd like to think that we have never been a pushover for any opponent, and always feel like we have a chance to win any game. Many of the players currently on the team have been on the team since the Canada A days, and we rarely have more than 4-5 players of turnover between seasons, so we don't rely heavily on recruiting, but rather staying loyal to the players that have been with the Toads since day 1. The team was originally called the Saskatoon Sooners. Chilly Willy took over the team mid-way through season 3 due to an inactive owner. The team was really going nowhere fast when Bayemon stepped up and took over head coaching and CFO responsibilities sometime around season 6. We've been competitive ever since, but Bayemon, because of those assholes where he draws a paycheck actually wanted him to earn said paycheck, had to step down and become a "consultant". Which really means he sits back, drinks beer, and tells us how much we suck without him as HC.

This basic origin is the one most people are familiar with. While the individual details vary, certain key elements have remained consistent in almost all retellings.
The Bastard Sons of Doug Flutie were born with the name "Kal-El" on the alien planet Krypton. His parents, Doug and Lara Flutie become aware of Krypton's impending destruction and Doug Flutie begins constructing a spacecraft that would carry Kal-El to Earth. During Krypton's last moments, Doug Flutie places the young Kal-El in the spacecraft and launches it. Doug Flutie and Lara die as the spacecraft barely escapes Krypton's fate. The explosion transforms planetary debris into kryptonite, a radioactive substance that is lethal to superpowered (as by Earth's yellow sun) Kryptonians.
The spacecraft lands in Canadian Pro League, where it is found by a passing motorist. A couple named the Kents adopt The Bastard Sons of Doug Flutie and name them "The Bestard Sons of Doug Flutie." As The Bestard Sons of Doug Flutie grow up on Earth, they and their adoptive parents discover that they have superhuman powers. The Kents teach The Bestard Sons of Doug Flutie to use these powers responsibly to help others and fight crime.
The Bestard Sons of Doug Flutie keeps their powers secret in order to protect their family and friends, who might be endangered by their criminal enemies. In order to use their powers to help humanity, The Bestard Sons of Doug Flutie creates the secret identity of The Bastard Sons of Doug Flutie. A number of elements are added to each identity to keep them distinct enough to prevent the casual observer from matching them. Oshawa (originally the Las Vegas Kings) was created as a farm team for a USA squad and then half-gutted and financially ruined before they even played a game. As a result it was a long road for those who remained to finally promote out of AAA. Ajax dominated from the get-go in A, winning consecutive league titles there, and continued to kick ass through season 7, when Ajax and Oshawa met for the AAA#1 championship, and Ajax prevailed. Oshawa adapted quicker to pro life, but by season 10 both teams were struggling with depth and GM availability. When beanerz solicited a merge after season 9, it was clearly the right thing for both teams involved. The extremely close real-life proximity of the two Canadian cities is purely a coincidence.

Hudson Bay started in the expansion Canada BBB leagues in season 5. Toneboogie was the original OC and GrandMasterC was the original DC. After 2 seasons Bluehaze took over the defense and GrandMasterC switched to offense. The original core group of agents have known each other for 6+ years and played together in other online games. We have added quality agents that we have met in this game. Our only losing season was season 6 when we made the jump from a capped league to an uncapped league. Instead of ditching our roster and recruiting a new one we decided to keep the players we had and take our lumps. Since that season we have made the playoffs every season.

After Cameroon Outlaws' season 5 APL championship upset, the team's ownership disbanded and moved a select group of players and agents to Canada A7 to for Magnificent Bastards. The team has since been a heavy contender every season of play, with a regular season record of 59-5. MB enters Canada Pro League in Season 11 with the addition of a heavy portion of the former SAPL Champion Brazilian Waxers' original cast of players with the intentions of competing for a title.

At the end of Season 5 my GLB flame burned out. Ownership and perpetual mediocrity took its toll as did lack of GLB access at work. Luckily my DC and right hand man, epsilon95phi, had recently gained control of a folding Canada Pro team, OOTP Ballers. He gained ownership, and we airlifted 95% of Cowbells players to the newly rechristened team, the Manitoba Matadors. With my reduced responsibilities I was free to spend some more time during Season 6 overhauling our AI and the results definitely showed in seasons to come. The same players that struggled to advance out of USA A3 soon became a force to be reckoned with in Canada AAA, as various other pieces of the GLB puzzle began to fall into place for us.

A primary member of the "Buffalo Mafia" affiliation including the now folded Buffalo Rangers, SEA Pro Buffalo Rampage, and EEPro Buffalo Warzone. Another reason for our leapfrog in success from USA to Canada can be explained through our deeper association in that network of teams, and the excellent resource of GLB knowledge it provided.

Became a owner in Borts mid season project back in season 3, was out of town and didn't know I had a team for a few days and if anyone think recruiting is hard now just try fielding a team mid season. We were in the East and had some good rivals like QC or St. Johns but I would say Halifax was our biggest one but when we got promoted to AA we were flipped to the West. Now there is one team we just can't get over the hump vs and have never beat, KC Gorilla's seem to have our number big time and we hope to end that this season! We have never missed the playoff's and hope to continue this streak in CPL!

The Polar Bears began in season 3 and officially were formed during the mid season expansion in Canada A. After an undefeated 8-0 regular season we marched through the playoffs until meeting who was then called the Ajax Odyssey (now known as Durham Ice Odyssey). The championship game ended in epic fashion with the Odyssey scoring a 35 yard TD with 1min 22 sec remaining. Due to the mid season expansion Bort decided not to promote any of the teams in Canada A so we returned for another two seasons until we won our first championship in season 5 and from there we continued to win.

The Wildfire started as a season 6 expansion in Western Europe BBB#1, going 3-13. Things steadily improved as the team grew until season 8 where a 14-2 regular season ended in the 2nd round of the playoffs to the eventual conference champion. They would enter season 9 as the WE BBB#1 clear favorite...until The Reshuffle happened, putting them into WE BBB#2 with some tougher competition. A 13-3 regular season again ended with a 2nd round exit. Season 10 was then a shift off to the Uncapped Minors (#9 holla) and a 20-0 gold cup. At this point the team decided to re-enter the pyramid in the Canada region for better competition. The stay in AA was short, despite a 1st round playoff exit, as the team requested to promote to AAA #1 if possible, as the championship in AA was almost inevitable. With some guts/cpus still sitting in AAA #1, on the last day before schedules were generated, the Wildfire got the promotion. A rough start in season 12 of 1-6 was overcome with a huge finish, as the Wildfire went on to claim a playoff spot by losing only 1 of their final 9 games. They lost in the first round to the Renegade Nation, who went on to promote to CPL that year. Again finding themselves on the top of the heap, the Wildfire lived up to the pre-season expectation for season 13, going 19-1 and winning the conference championship to earn a spot in CPL.

Another team from the only mid-season team giveaway in season 3. Strom is one of the best recruiters out there and was able to get us a full team at the start of season 3 before our team even came out. This paved the way to two consecutive Eastern titles in Canada A2 where we lost to the Port Moody Megalodon both times. Since then we have never had a losing season but have missed the playoffs three times. We backed into promotion from AA1 to AAA1 by losing in the 2nd round of the playoffs after going 16-0. We finally won another trophy (albeit silver, again) by running through the S12 AAA1 Eastern playoffs as a 4 seed.
Our team is named for the Xavier Musketeers, which strom and I attended for undergrad. We took on an Inuit theme for our franchise with sister teams in Kangiqsualujjuaq and Ivujivik (not actually a place but a name). Our stadium's name is Amaamatisivik, which means the place where women breast-feed their babies and is actually the name of the area where Puvirnituq is located.

Tradewest has been one of the top competitors in their conference ever since the inception of the team despite league promotions. Been under the same ownership since day 1, and it has been a long road from the shortened Canada A season 3 to CPL. Been pretty much a 2-man organization between myself and skyrook52 until last season when Roctronic and FredL offered to help with AI.
Though the team has never captured any league titles, and only one conference title, we'd like to think that we have never been a pushover for any opponent, and always feel like we have a chance to win any game. Many of the players currently on the team have been on the team since the Canada A days, and we rarely have more than 4-5 players of turnover between seasons, so we don't rely heavily on recruiting, but rather staying loyal to the players that have been with the Toads since day 1. Looking forward to finally competing in CPL!

S5 [Canada A4]: We started and a team with No Direction at all the previous owner of this didn't know the difference between the goal post and his nuts. The team went CPU for a day and it was utter confusion but luckily this guy Vins24 stepped in and took the reigns. This guy came in like Bill Parcells everyone's confidence went from 0-60 with this team in just a day. We had a gutted roster with 4 HBs 8 LB and a lot of other shit not needed on the team (No Money!!!) But we went 9-7 and lost in the first round in the playoffs so the team was a success.
S6 [Canada A4]: 13-3 doing better as a team Lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs L 17-66 to the Montreal Marauders (some of you may remember them)
S7 [Canada AA2]: Once again 13-3 But this season you manage to pick up a rival The New Market Maulers which we never be spoken of again. One of the GREATEST rivalries in GLB History also one I love to talk about. So we are New to AA2 and fools like most of you came at my team stupid so I defended it the best I could. When this sucker from The New Market Maulers starts talking a whole butt load of crap about how we should gut. So this fueled my fire to play GLB all over again like it was season 1 day 7. So this Butthole Beats us the very first game we play 41-0 and goes clean off in the forum this eats me alive. I leave the forum and come come about 2 games before the playoffs and we go at it again I'm determine to beat this Cracker Jack and leave him crying for his momma! So we meet First Round of the playoffs and we spank that ass 30-24. With the very last play of the game being a RUN (http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=361774&pbp_id=13372795) New Market could have easily won the game but the guy who talk the most shit miss on the winning tackle on MY Running Back. SWEET VICTORY!!!!!!!!!! and then We lost in the second round of the playoffs also L 37-63 to (take a guess) yep the Montreal Marauders (#$%^%$#@$%^%)
S8 [Canada AA2]:So this Season we change Owners everything stays the same we just loved our team so much we didn't want it to Go CPU or let someone from the outside come in and ruin our shit. We go 12-4 this season Beat New Market by 1 point and overall good season because we beat New Market. Lost in the first round of the playoffs! (again)
S9 [Canada AA2]:This Season we feel a little betters we went 15-1 beat New Market by 5 and even get past the First and second Round of the Playoffs. That's Right CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME against who you say LMAO no one else but The New Market Maulers we ripped that ass to pieces 41-24 (http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=584900). Then we meet The Renegade Nation I wasn't so proud of our meeting because they used us taking the Gold Championship Trophy with them beating us 16-45
S10 [Canada AAA1]: So we moved up again going 13-3 losing in the 2nd round of the playoffs (again). At least we are better than the New Orleans Saints so it gives me some victories to watch.

The team was originally called the Saskatoon Sooners. Chilly Willy took over the team mid-way through season 3 due to an inactive owner. The team was really going nowhere fast when Bayemon stepped up and took over head coaching and CFO responsibilities sometime around season 6. We've been competitive ever since, but Bayemon, because of those assholes where he draws a paycheck actually wanted him to earn said paycheck, had to step down and become a "consultant". Which really means he sits back, drinks beer, and tells us how much we suck without him as HC.

Other: Formed as expansion team in season 3. At the start of season 5, another team that many of us were on broke up and we spent the next few seasons collecting some of our players from far-flung locations. We now have about 15 of 55 on our team that were part of the initial group which was connected by another message board that we are a part of.
