That's certainly very impressive, allowing one sack every 154 pass attempts; but to say "no team is even close to that" is incorrect. Emerald City's quarterbacks combined for 615 pass attempts during the regular season and yet the team only allowed a total of 3 sacks and 5 hurries during that time - a ratio of 205 pass attempts per sack!

Again, the Gods have a very good offensive line - I'm not debating that fact - but your statement that no other team could match such their output was incorrect.

Good call. I didn't get down to either of your QBs probably because you split snaps. I just checked the sack totals for the top QBs in passing yards saw no one was close then assumed.

speakin of stat lite...i would like to thank those that have nominated my player...and for all others...please consider this...yes i do not have all the gaudy interception numbers that the other corners have, but i challenge you guys to find a corner who plays as many defensive snaps as i do and has a tackle to pass deflection ratio like mine...

Paris Hilton.

hah not even close. 47 tackles to 35 PD? Wondertramp has 53 and 53...while that is pretty good, you cant say the ratio is like Wondertramp's

yeah?? now looks at the amount of plays and take into consideration Paris play nickelback.

thats the whole point im the starting corner and have a 1:1 ration of pds and tackles im pretty sure i have played more defensive snaps then you and yet only have 6 more tackles...most of the time my guy is covered forcing the qb to throw somewhere else or get sacked...this gives me less throws going my way to make a play on...resulting in less tackles, but when they do throw my way i defend the majority of the passes that i see....hence my pd numbers....its just a different way of looking at cbs....i think the best play the cb can make is the play he doesnt have to make because his guy is covered....

Yeah, the best stat a CB can have is 0 tackle, 0 PD and 0 INT (assuming it's not because he always gets outright beaten and can't make plays). That would indicate that he totally shuts down his side of the field. Of course, those numbers are unrealistic just to prove a point. There should still be run support tackles for example. My point is sometimes the lower the stat totals, the better a CB might be. To be sure, though, one needs to actually go look at the CB's game film. That's why I think CB is the hardest position to evaluate only based on numbers.

my thoughts exactly...i do have some run support tackles and even some special team tackles....

There are too many variables in play between the (usually) 3 WR sets and the corners to be able to say that a 'shutdown' corner shut down his side just because he didn't have any tackles. Just because a player doesn't get the ball isn't proof positive that he wasn't open or that he wouldn't have caught it. Some things can be related to a QBs targeting settings, the tactics used by the other team in terms of S/M/L passes, or the percentage of passes to the TE or the HB.

The only thing I can say with complete certainty is that you're all chumps compared to Vernon.

well then chump....then what is the point of even having this thread....there are way to many variables for people to decide all pros for any position....I was just pointing out there are different ways to evaluate player performance...since this game is made up of zeros and ones and not reality...all we have to go on are the numbers...interpret them however you want

Nickelbacks get a lot of tackles in the run game as well.

Nice job by lukin to organize that. Since the Caninites are coming to Pro this year, maybe he'll put together next years Pro Bowl voting. Pro people didn't seem to care as much about it this year, with something like 10 nomination ballots cast and some positions lacking in votes. This was because the ballots were limited to 10 players total rather than choosing for all positions. It looks like AAA upstaged us.

Vernon > You. Don't get me wrong, you're a very good corner, but shit. You're no Vernon. Hell, I'm no Vernon either. Nobody's Vernon, because Vernon's the best.
