Like I might nominate my HB, and so would 10 other owners. And they'd all be right. In their eyes their HB has been one of their best players. So the arbitor being objective just sits there and compares those nominated and evaluates statistically etc that only these 3 particular HBs get selected as pro-bowlers.

Part of every owner's job in posting their candidates tho would entail some realistic sincere thinking. I have a good HB, but if there are 8 other HBs who have rushed for more yards and TDs or something, then I'm not gonna nominate them.

So I'm helping the arbitor out by doing some of my own objective thinking in nominating players.

I like GG's idea of this, even if it leaves me without a say in it.

One tough thing to gauge would be offensive linemen, cause if I have a stand up pass blocker on the team, but he doesn't rack up pancakes, he'd get the snub. Is the arbitrator going to review extensive game replays for each player?

Probably not, it wouldn't be any different than the real NFL though where players on the OL get in on reputation more than effectiveness.

I think we should just argue about it and never actually do it.

well for O-line, I guess you would factor in sacks given up, TFLs, Hurries, and Pancakes. All of this stuff is recorded, makes it a bit easier.

Sacks given up, TFLs, Hurries are not recorded against specific linemen. Pancakes are the only recorded stat. Someone would have to go over literally every play-by-play in order to determine whether a lineman has given up a sack, how many sacks, and just how dominant they are on the LOS.
