Why do so many alphas think people are jealous of them... freaking hilarious.. is this high school? I hope it's a joke.

and it IS our business O-Prime ...if it happens in this league it's ALL our business....and yes alpha testers have gutted teams in GLB.

Frankly IMO the admins and mods have not done a good job creating, teaching, implementing, or enforcing the "rules" of the game so far and we are mid season #2 [not counting all the alpha time.] For example...where are the rules posted anyway?
[answer: they aren't]

People have spent real money on this game and don't like it when cheaters are allowed to cheat. Even worse when they are mods, admins, or testers. Most of us realize now that there really aren't any rules and thus in reality nobody has cheated, to date.

I've been told gutting can't be stopped by an admin.... "nothing we can really do about people wanting to not run their team anymore and wanting to move their players." It's a shame they can't see the damage this will do the game int he long run when paying customers stop paying.

Because its not our job, its the admin and mods job. They run the place. The regular Alpha Testers cant do anything.

The mods and the admin have the power to recieve, send, correct, and modify whatever problems you and the actual game may have. If the mods and admins want to turn a blind eye on the problem, thats their business. Im just playin the game and enjoying it. If i wanted to fix peoples problems, i would have offered Bort to be a mod and help people.

The regular alpha testers helped test the game so everyone can play it.

Maybe Bort should give the Beta Testers a badge too, so when the game is official, the newbies can give you guys crap about the game. Would that be fair?

So basically what everyone is saying, is that if someone no longer wants to play in USA pro with their players, we should make them do it anyways?

I think there are definitely some imperatives that should be enforced:

1. Players not owned by the team owner should definitely be treated as assets to the team and transferred to the new owner

2. If a team owner wants to move his players from his team and sell the team, then allow it, but not until the new owner comes on board... and the new owner has to agree on the compensation for HIS team's loss

Hell yes. At least until the season ends.
It is not realistic or "sim-like" for an owner to trash their team during a season.

Here's a rule from another sport sim....

It is against the rules to...act against common football logic. For example you may not deliberately reduce your squad to less than 20 players, ruin the economy of your club etc. Along the way behaviour like this will be regulated automatically, but until then please take care not to act in a way that NO real life manager would do.

If GLB ever makes rules and posts them something similar should be included.

Why should they be forced to do something that they don't want to?

Obviously you havent played Cyberdunk......Sign up there, and go to their forums and then come back here and tell me this game isnt better.

In Cyberdunk, you might NEVER get a response back, if your lucky you'll get one after a week.

I asked for a team forum 4 months ago.....i still dont have it. So i speak from experience.

Welcome to life...welcome to sports... it's called playing by the rules so that the game is FAIR.

Shit happens.

Eventually, those who really want to be in USA Pro will be here.

Bort & DD are taking steps toward addressing this issue (hence the giant thread about it, started by Bort) but they have a responsibility of coming up with a fair solution for the entire player base, and can't react in a knee jerk manner.

Don't mistake public inactivity for indifference.

Just because some other game has bad customer service does not mean that GLB has good service.
No doubt this game is better though.

Pretty sure players can retire midseason if they really want to in real life.

This is a fake sports game on the internet that many people PAY to PLAY. You own your players, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. If you own a team and decide you don't want to own it anymore, and have 10 players on that team that you paid for, you have every right to release them. The ONLY shitty thing that can happen in that situation is the owner doesn't allow everyone to be released if they want to.

Everyone keeps saying how it screws up league balance, and in the NFL this wouldn't happen, and blah blah blah.

This isn't the NFL, this is very, very, very different. The only illegal thing about gutting is when you move all those players released to the same team elsewhere. Otherwise it is none of your business, and doesn't harm you.

Let them retire their players then.... moving them to another team is not retirement.

Also, most (if not all) alpha testers with teams in USA Pro didn't buy them, and were awarded them during alpha to test.

The game is obviously very different than it was at that point, and some don't have the time/desire to keep with the timesink it has become. What you will see in the future is owners who have a clearer idea of what they're getting into, and have the team because they went out and got it. That will make a huge difference.

I dont have time to go thru all the ways this type of action can harm my team. You are not seeing the entire picture.

and people are not "releasing" their players...they are moving them and leaving the team gutted. Way different than not wanting to play or retirement.
