especially since they are legally viable for what is in there, hence the no porn rule being GLB wide, and stuff like that

#1 I think you meant liable.
#2 Look up "safe harbor". GLB is in no way responsible for any content in a private forum.

Paying 25 FP for a forum I think constitutes "owning" it.

No it doesn't.

It is renting server space.

So your going to try and say that 1 PF even slightly costs GLB anything?

Also Swag, go look up that word in the dictionary, you don't lose your PF after your term is finished.

Come up with an argument that covers the realm beyond "administrative opinion" and "status quo" and maybe you'll have a debate. As it stands you collectively have nothing.

let me help you with something, forum bans are a PUNISHMENT, why should you get to post in any forum if your being punished for something you did ON THE FORUMS? I am really having trouble understanding why you guys dont get that. not being able to post in PF's you don't own and team forums is part of the PUNISHMENT

If the aim was to drive customers away from GLB, then certainly feel free to punish people this way. But its petty and stupid, and if anything will just drive more and more people away from the game.

My suggestion is file an item dispute in PayPal, chances are there won't be a response and you will get your $$$ back.

That seems very disingenuous

It "seems very disingenuous" to sell somebody usage of a private forum and then deny them usage of it, as was the case when private forums were initially implemented (perma-forum-banned users couldn't even post in the forums they bought).

It "seems very disingenuous" to sell somebody usage of a private forum and then after the fact tell them who can and cannot post in it because a rule that is not in effect in "your forum" was violated in "their forum" by the person in question.

It "seems very disingenuous" to ban people from a chat room their flex points in part paid for who never even got to use it based on what they said six months prior to the chat's implementation.

I gotta say its a pretty weak argument you make when your best effort is to cut and paste from the TOS.

Nobody gets permabanned for their first offense. Its "petty and stupid" to keep pushing buttons if one isn't in the position to control the outcome.

So negligible costs invalidates anything?

Well in that case, the cost of a PF is pretty negligible, so we can rule out people having to pay for it.

Shouldn't perma-banned players be able to post in the private forums? If we invite them then clearly we are welcoming them in. And its not that tough to remove them if they do decide to make trouble. All im asking is to be able to moderate the forum that i paid for. And in anycase they have access to their team forums still, so its not like they cant post at all anymore.

+1

Great idea

whats petty and stupid, is the people that have to go out of thier way to make an ass out of themselves, and push the limitations of the rules that are given to them, I am a 2nd generation military kid, everyone needs discipline, and how do you do that? by punishment. and it will only push away the customers that feel they have to try as hard as they can be to be an internet bad boy, which is pretty fuckin lame.

You don't "own" the private forum--Goal Line Blitz does. Goal Line Blitz, in turn, gives you certain rights to, within reason, control what goes on within that forum. Goal Line Blitz has decided that they still have the right to limit who may and who may not post within your forum.

Lease.

Exactly.

You both need to grab a brain and be open when talking in this forum. CP'd from Wiki on "Lease"

Under normal circumstances, owners of property are at liberty to do what they want with their property, including dealing with it or handing over possession of the property to a tenant for a limited period of time. However, if an owner has surrendered possession to another (ie the tenant) then any interference with the quiet enjoyment of the property by the tenant in lawful possession is itself unlawful.

So now your whole argument is worthless.

Cutting to the chase: *IF* the handful of folks who are currently permabanned were returned the flex they paid for their private forum AND language were put in place going forward for all that purchase private forums that were they to become banned that they would NOT have access to their newly purchased forum, how would you view things at that point?
