slowbuilding is a process that optimizes your long term stats, by looking at and understanding how this game works with XP/training/SP/leveling etc. You sacrifice your player for 2-3 seasons of suckage though, but in the long run end up far better than possible.

how EXACTLY you do it is up to you, I've got individual plans for each player

Not really. If it's taking you longer than 16 levels to become useful, you are doing something wrong.

Kicker and punter would be the easiest, no doubt about it.

I'm slow building a rushing QB, a KR and a run blocking set of O-lne for them.

thats not what he's saying. slow building allows you to sacrifice 2 seasons to be better than your peers in your third year. the issue is that you are at roughly the same XP level as your peers, but you hoarded your SPs so your training meant more. it's not taking 16 levels to be simply useful, it's taking 16 levels and the added training to be MVP.

No, I'm fairly certain he said "suckage", and there is no reason a slow builder needs to sacrifice two seasons. Any slow builder should (against similar levels) be able to star in their second season. My WR who is only level 15 is beating CBs, FSs and SSs in their low to mid 20's. So, he's a season and a half old playing in a league that is going on its third season and doing great! He'll do even better when he starts catching more than one out of four passes

yes he said "suckage" during the first 1 or 2 seasons. but the point is that when your WR gets to season 3, and his CB gets to season 3, he will have the advantage of extra partial points from training to cover you like a blanket, as opposed to the CBs youre playing now.

plus your WR has 7 catches for 96 yards in 5 games.

So? he has no problem beating CB's and getting open...it's catching the ball that is his problem! (as I stated) The stats don't tell the entire story, you have to go to the replay.

Beating a 23 CB

Don't spend your skill points at all until you can soft cap an attribute. Train the next most important attribute while you are softcapping the first.

Yeah, but every time you level up don't you gain a percentage based on the number of points you have in any given skill? Say you had 30 Speed and leveld up, you would gain a certain percentage of that 30 points putting you above 30 after the level up.

If you held on to the SP's untill you had enough to reach the soft cap you would be losing points on the percentage boost when you leveled wouldn't you?

My guess is it would be smarter to spend your points when you got them so that you would reach the soft cap faster and better utilize your level ups to gain points. Plus, if you're truly slow buliding you won't have an awful lot of SP's sitting around anyways. Like old boy said earlier, he tries to get 10 training sessions out of each level, that's only 15 SP's gained from leveling up a season.

No, I'm not 100 percent on the amount of points, but you get like 2 points split between your primary attributes for your player and like 1 point split between you secondary att's. No percentages...
