Good afternoon and welcome back to Casual Pro News! I am your host Jayadamo and we have a semi exciting show for you today. I had hoped to retire from this but due to the 3s of people that have been begging for it and a certain 8 legged Mod, here it is!
Regular Season Thoughts
I will say that had I done a preseason prediction show, I wouldn't have done well. I am a bit surprised by a few things. Here is probably what my prediction would have looked like:
1. Arditi
2. Shoreline
3. Granite
4. West Coast
5. Breese
6. Legends
1. Philly
2. SCK
3. Vols
4. Hulk
5. Sonoma
6. Grand Rapids
These predictions would have been based on historical knowledge and from what I have seen over the past few seasons of each team and absolutely nothing to do with me having a clue of what the rosters look like. Remember, this is the guy that had no idea Arditi was a dirty rushing QB team in the old CP league.
Tier 1 Teams
Granite and Phrenzy are by far the best teams in the league and will most likely meet for the championship. Granite has always been a championship contender but look like they have hit the next level. Phrenzy is Phrenzy and is what I imagine all of the teams those guys are involved with are. Super bad ass! My plot to get all of the great teams to permanently fold by crashing GLB obviously didn't work.
Tier 2 Teams
SCK and Vols. The Vols being 2-0 against SCK this season is a pleasant surprise to me. Being able to beat a team like that twice is a huge accomplishment. Both teams went 0 for against the A Tier teams but are capable of beating them on a good day. The Vols not having a major late season collapse as they usually do has also been great to see. Not excited about playing SCK round 1 though.
Tier 3 Teams
Arditi. Preseason I would have had them Tier 1 with SCK and Phrenzy. They could easily be in Tier 2 but 0-5 against Tiers 1 and 2 put them here. Don't be shocked if they win some games in the playoffs.
Tier 4 Teams
Shoreline. This one really caught me off guard. I mess with Shoreline a lot but only because the Vols are historically 3-248 against them. I would have them in Tier 3 but they have a few bad losses. I really hope they bounce back next season. They are one of my favorite teams to pretend to hate.
Tier 5 Teams
Breese, Legend, and West Coast. Underachieving group here in my eyes. Sad to see the Wolfpack fold.
Tier 6 Teams
Sonoma. They are 4-0 against Tier 7 so they get their own spot.
Tier 7 Teams
Grand Rapids and Hulk. I expected more but got a lot less.
Playoff Picks Round 1
Granite Vs Breese
I really hate when the last regular season game is also a 1st round playoff game. Seems to happen a lot. Granite had no problem in their previous match ups so give me the Grizz 31-10
Arditi vs Shoreline
Preseason I would have been excited by this but not as much now. They split the regular season series but Shoreline has fallen off a cliff late season. Maybe they took over the Vol curse. Give me the Italians by 40
Phrenzy vs Sonoma
Phrenzy scored over 60 in both of their match ups this season so they will win right? Well in the words of the great Lee Corso "NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!" Sonoma brings in a high powe...... oh who am I kidding, Phrenzy by 50.
Vols vs SCK
I would like to say in advance, Damn you ROC! Beating SCK once is great! Beating SCK twice is awesome! Beating SCK 3 times is probably close to impossible. If the Vols win I might make Sugar Kapaa my wife. If the Vols lose it is obviously because of Gmaj. Not quite the collapse that Ahoda and I predicted but a sad ending to a great season.
SCK 46 Vols 28....... nope, nope nope, I can't do it. My mind is telling me nooooo, but my body, my body is telling me yeeeesssss. Go Vols 34-31
